    Yesterday:

Spent 40 minutes using a car wash bay to do the best exterior cleaning I've ever performed on a car, in hopes of finally snapping some photos of it in an urban environment before work today.

This morning - found a nail in my driver side rear tire.

This afternoon - drove the Jetta to work

    This evening - intense rainfall.

Not today , but Sunday had my rear window scratched to hell by my tint guy. He had to retint my back window. And the sponge he used to remove the glue scratched the **** out of the inside of my window. He must have thought I wouldn't notice and retinted it. But after all the water dried , you can see it's scratched up bad. Gunna be giving him a call tomorrow.

After a fair amount of pacing, I decided to take my R to the local pseudo-billy Chevrolet dealership to get the galvanized nail removed from my tire along with a patch job. I pulled up to the service bay, got inside and dealt with the "oh hey you don't buy 'merican?" looks, and then reluctantly handed over the keys and went into the waiting lounge. About 5 minutes later I hear the rumble, and after seeing the reflection of the tail lights moving back and forth a bit (from my view on the lid of a stainless steel trashcan), and I hear a few mild blips of the exhaust.

I wasn't the least bit upset.

Later they came out and tell me its ready, homeboy takes me to the desk to fill out the paper work...

    "Is that thing pretty quick?"
*insert common posts from 'funny things people say about your R' and my stereotypical R'owner responses*

Swipe the card, walk outside to a see a moderately well done complimentary wash job and no damage to the wheel from it being removed. Satisfying exhale, and a short drive home.

I have never felt this way about a car of mine being in the hands of other people before.

Oh, and I managed to get myself spooked away from potentially getting the UM combo done this weekend after lurking around the board, so I looked at my car with nothing more than a concerned face during my commute.

Deleted my SAI hanging over the exhaust manifold last night, going to clean up all the lines on the passanger side of the valve cover tonight and I will only be left with fuel feed and return on that side of the head. Also going to install an 034 motorsports fuel rail tonight.

Also had time to install some FFE Racing delrin motor mount inserts for VF mounts.

Played with a Cayenne Turbo S this morning...We were heading onto a twisty highway and I don't know why but the Porsche was trying to intimidate me with its twin turbo V8, which sounded glorious as he gunned it on the straights. He pulled away steadily on the straights as expected, reaching speeds of 100+ while I just casually drove my regular highway pace. Once we reached the more curvy parts of the road, I quickly caught up, passed him and left him in the dust to the point where I couldn't see him behind me anymore. Also expected and I knew it was coming for him but just gotta love this car when you can embarrass a 500+ hp cousin even if it does weigh close to twice as much.
If your gas cap light comes on even if you think you tightened the cap, try pulling on the cap as you tighten it. Worked for me.
    Help us with suspension specs!

Took delivery of 1610's old RCD500 to replace the piece of crap RCD300 the dealer fitted. Not all fancy like the RCD510, but miles better than what I currently have... yay!

Finding the hour or 4 is the hard part...

Why sell the pulleys? They are just the lightweight ones; not the bad tensioners
