^^^ I got the Dynaudio amp and RCD not RNS. Bluetooth options are next on my plate unless the Tampa mod sneaks in line.

Killed millions of bugs in a 900km round trip during a weekend away in Mossel Bay, up the Garden Route of the eastern cape.....

Also suspected that sixteen10 visited one of the bars in Mossel Bay and left his calling card:

Enjoyed my daily commute with the Borla soundtrack after a failed install, followed by a successful install this weekend.

I would like to remind everyone (especially the younger demographic) to exercise caution when raising this pig of a car. Long story short, a mildly cut corner and small amount of carelessness resulted in a 1.5" long and 1/8" deep dent/gash in my passenger side skirt after a jack failure - a small price to pay in comparison to almost having the driver side dump into the side of a garage door like something you would see in a youtube video. Luckily nobody was injured and the blemish is the only reminder of what was a very scary situation.

Use ramps when possible, but never relax when rolling up due to the nature of the DSG.

Just rolled over 40k on my way into work today.

And *tried* to drop her off for a Haldex switch install - only to be told it was next Wednesday. D'oh!

Tried to figure out why my rear wiper won't automatically come on when I put the car in reverse in the rain. Thought it was supposed to do that if I had the wipers set to auto.

Also still can't figure out how the rain sensing windows work...I know mine are coded to be on, but I've never managed to get them to work.

And I noticed an odd buzzing noise when I started it up this morning but I just attributed it to the car being cold.

On your right (wiper) stalk, there are a number of settings. Middle is off. One push down is one wiper cycle. One click up is auto and after that are varying speeds of "on".

If the front wipers don't come on before you go into reverse then the rear wipers don't either, so just flip the wipers on before reversing and it should work.

^ about the wipers. Though sometimes mine refuse to come on until I start moving. And every once in a while they come on for a single swipe with no rain present. If it happens, it's when it goes light/dark shadow/light due to trees or overpass. I just turn the sensitivity down and it's far less frequent.
    Thx!

oh yeah! a bit vibey at throttle tip in right off idle, otherwise it just feels tighter, wot shifts are cleaner and crisper. definitely a big improvement over the stock mount. But, if all you do is drive in stop an go traffic and don't really drive spirited, then your money would be better spent elsewhere. If you drive spirited frequently or all the time like me, DO IT.

    Sorry dude.

So what did I do to my R today. Well today I start the next phase in my R's development and there are big things in store. I think it's new thread worthy. My old thread got stale.

Alright so here is the story.... Girlfriend somehow scratched the weird black finish on the shifter console. After some cleaning I removed the original finish and brought the plastic down to its base. I went down to my local sticker/decal place and bought a 2' x 2' sheet of the turned aluminum vinyl. cost me like 15$. After taking apart the shifter bezel ( which is fairly straightforward) I laid the vinyl on half the side. Then started making a rough cut along the inside so the vinyl had room to flex. With this vinyl it doesn't have much room for flexing because it is foil based. Slowly cutting away at the excess with an xacto knife I trimmed it to fit. Same with the right hand side. the inner edge does not have to be perfect because that chrome ring covers it.

Looks pretty decent. It would look perfect if the engine turned pattern was the same size as the stock pieces. I know, I'm being picky.
