Unsure at the moment. Looks like I'm forced to invest some money on repairing my passenger front CV boot. Remember when my tire tread came off on I-4? Well it apparently wrapped around my axle and damage the CV boot. Hopefully we can do a boot kit, otherwise it's a new axle for me. $480ish with a $200 core refund.

That's an interesting look. How does it hold up to road debris and wear? I'd like to see close ups.
#146
If it holds up like my old GTI grill, I should have no problem at all. It was a pain in the butt to tape everything off. I can take a close up if you want. Just remember I didn't do the greatest job as I knew this was an experiment before painting. I also have to work on the plate holes. I used a plastic epoxy weld and the stuff is rock hard. I think I am going to use a razor and dig some out and use a body puddy to smooth the holes better.

I plan on p-dip the extra grill I have at home was wondering how did you fill in the holes?
#148
1. Go to Autozone and buy plastic weld epoxy.( it has two different types of fluid that have to mix)
2. Ruff edges around holes so epoxy has something to bond to.
3. I placed electrical tape behind the holes. I'm sure you could use other types of tape.
4. Mix epoxy on some type of hard surface and mix quick.( Turns to goo real fast)
5. Scrape goo in holes. I suggest you don't fill all the way to the top. This way, you can place some sanding puddy/bondo over. This is also easier to sand than the hardened glue. I now have to scrape/cut some of the glue to place the puddy in for sanding.
6. Let cure over night.
7. Bondo.
8. Sand down till smooth.
9. Tape off what you want plasti-dipped/painted.
10. Enjoy.

regarding that point, i strongly suggest you DO NOT DO THIS. rather, while at Autozone, buy a body patch kit. it will come with some self-adhering wire mesh that covers the back of the holes, then it can be smeared over with a thick layer of epoxy/bondo. let dry and contour sand the front. the mesh patch will have your back if you get a rock hitting right on the patch. merely taping it can allow the epoxy to pop through the hole.

Still looking for any help as to how to get the inner set of LEDs to become the turn signal.
If anyone knows how this could be done, pleaseeee let me know. I would hope there would be no wiring involved but if I have to I will. Thanks!

These are the ones I purchased. They were like $25 or so.

Put my holeless, plastidipped grill back on the car finally
Unfortunately, my magnetic plate holder isn't working; magents keep peeling off despite beign Epoxied on...

It is Gorilla Epoxy, 5 minute set time. Yes; mixed correctlyit failed the first time I did it as well, but I thought it was due to humidity. I am guessing the plate holder is polyurethane, and just too smooth and flexible for the Epoxy to hold onto...
I gotta do a little research and see if I can find something better.

Probably filled with sulphur hexafluoride

Vag'd the hatch, so now it pops open.
Tomorrow will try the "ghetto" method to get my tails turn signal LEDs to work.
