Well, I guess I won't start a new thread about the manual swap, all the steps, photos and parts needed.
I was just about to click new topic.

I took it to the body shop to let the restoration begin...
(well, that happened yesterday, but close enough!)
They told me I should have it back around the middle of next week... great! I'm already having withdrawal symptoms!![]()

Added yet another battle scar to my R today; thanks to a truck with too much gravel and too little tailgate...
I am thinking of making a few changes to the .:R if I end up keeping it:
Anything else to add to my plans?
- Plastidip the Front Grill, Wheels, and spoiler
- Have the car Vinyl Wrapped in Urban Assault Camo pattern, with hood stripe and roof in matte black
- Change Vanity plates to read RBNASLT

Still working on plasti-dipping the grille but I'm lazy and just getting more used to driving the R32 as a DD. My S4 got hit by someone running a red light a few weeks ago so it will be down for a while and returning with OEM RS4 Widebody and retired as a DD since I'm not risking that bodywork if I don't have to.
Going in for its 1st service under our ownership and doing the Mech recall, along with some other 20K stuff (oil, brake fluid change + Haldex service while we're at it).
I can say that the R32 can go through turns faster than my S4 but much sketchier with a feeling of losing control any second rather than being planted like in my S4. The R32 can really use the haldex software and/or RSB to help balance it out a bit better. More driving experience for me behind the wheel will help too. The cars are very similar in most respects but I think the shorter wheelbase of the R32 and the RSB in my S4 are making a pretty noticeable difference in the handling characteristics.
If your gas cap light comes on even if you think you tightened the cap, try pulling on the cap as you tighten it. Worked for me.
Help us with suspension specs!

Installed a skid plate, put on some steel braided brake lines and new rub strips. Also adjusted my ride height a little.

some tool side swiped my R32.
They didn't do any sheet metal damage but the rubber side bumpers are scratched real good and there is some residue on the metal that will buff out!

Nah I claimed it myself, got the check, and I'm letting the body shop take care of the rest. The Audi/VW guy there assured me repeatedly that they would be using nothing but OEM parts on it since it's so rare of a car. He said if it was a Toyota Camry, then it'd be different, I said if it was a Toyota Camry, then I wouldn't care haha.
The only thing I'm really concerned about is that they're sending the wheel out to be tested and refinished, and I'm worried that the refinish won't be up to par, but he did say that there would be a lifetime warranty on the refinish, so that did make me feel better. I might buy an extra wheel just in case (I could always use it to replace the rear pass. side wheel that I curbed by accident a few weeks ago...d'oh! Not used to watching out for curbs!)

Holler if you need an extra wheel, I have 3.
