Hi All,
I want to give a super positive review to my new technician, Marin -- known around here as "jetta ,97". He's a VW & German car specialist, and that's for real.
This week Marin did work on my car including engine work, suspension work, and VCDS work. He nailed all of it, used the best quality approved parts available, answered all my questions, and attended to every detail including following up with me after. All that for FAR less than the dealer prices. I actually saved nearly $400 with my visit to him, and I'm absolutely certain the work was done flawlessly. I have never had any faith like that in any dealer.
I cannot give a better review for him, and if any of you, no matter where in DFW you are, want or need an independent VW tech then he is your guy. My review: A+++!
PM me for contact info for Marin. The man is aiming to open his own German car service... I want to help him do it. His work and attitude are the best I have found so far. Seriously.![]()

5 Thumbs up for Marin!
He did plugs and a drop-in filter on my B6 and was fast, professional, VERY fair priced, and extremely informative. He made getting the bugger of an engine cover off look easy, and even used a little anti-seize on my plugs
I would recommend him to anyone, without hesitation.

Great service, great price, great conversation!! The services provided were quick and extremely reasonable. I will be going back as my car is out of warranty in 10,000 miles (4-5 months).![]()

morefor this guy! great service, great price, what more can i say. i had some VCDS tricks done on my '09 tiguan and after my initial experience w/ him the 8 hour drive (from San Antonio and back) is worth it. i'm definitely coming back once my care-free maintenance is over.

Marin, thank you for the outstanding job yesterday afternoon!
He was on time, as promised, and the work took exactly the amount of time, as promised, and he made several key suggestions that customized my new GTI that I hadn't thought about. When the time comes, I will definitely take my VW to him for service!

Another5 thumbs up for Marin!
My FSI Passat was acting crappy, had a CEL. Marin ran my codes. I had 4, maybe 7. He says it's none of these things (the codes), it's the PCV. I was like, "Whaaaaat."
He replaced the PCV. Car runs great, all codes gone. Crisis averted![]()

very cool. i just forwarded the video to Carl, who is a jetta nut. Carl's the guy who you helped with his tranny in his jetta.
by the way, your work like that gives me lots of confidence in you in case we need to deal with specialized issues in the future... like a DSG --> 6MT side by side swap from a TT, in case that ever was on the table.

i want to give more props to my man Marin.
i went to him for an oil change last week. my R32 is at 53k, just around the corner from an expiring powertrain warranty.
during the oil change Marin did a complete inspection. he found a bit of coolant crusted by the water pump. there was a tiny slow leak. it was so slow that it probably would not have been noticed before my 60k warranty expiration.
i called my dealer that day and got an appointment for a warranty replacement of the water pump. this would have been a very expensive repair. Marin has saved me money in a number of ways over the last year or so since meeting him, but this was a huge one.
thanks Marin for the quality work and attention to detail. your keen eye has saved me another several hundred dollars and the hassle of a dead car with a broken water pump. that was awesome, thanks!

Hi Gals and Gals,
I went to Marin's"Jetta 97") place (Garland Texas) since when I swapped the MKVI steering wheel to my car I only changed the steering wheel and its module but I didn't know that I had to change the stalks as well. So Marin helped me out by changing this stalks as well as the gateway CAN BUS since I wanted I new one so my RNS 510 would work pretty fine without having any battery draining issue.
Marin is such a nice guy! He's very professional and concerned about giving an excellent customer service as well!![]()

He had my car on time and with an excellent price! I would recommend him for sure!
Thanks Marin!![]()

another ++++ to marin. the previous owner of my e39 540i swapped a bunch of m5 stuff into it and many of the electronics don't work right. the major one was the a/c. that's not something i wanted to diagnose slowly by myself so i decided to take it to someone. being reluctant to let someone else work on my car, i took it to marin. he exceeded my expectations in terms of price, turnaround time and honesty. his diagnosis was spot-on and he even offered me a discount because he couldn't fix the issue (it was a bad part and he suggested that i find one instead of having him order it through BMW and i'm glad he did so.)
one thing i know vortex will appreciate is that marin hates cheap parts. he won't even work with knock-off/autozone parts, oem only. i'll be using marin for any work on my bmw or my vw in the future and i would recommend anyone with a european car to do the same![]()

I gotta add to this as well. Marin came out on FATHER'S DAY to help me program my new key and cluster. Very professional and gave me some advice on my current predicament with the car. Very good and will be using him in the future. Thanks buddy!!!
