I could tell that Marin was less interested in up-selling services and more interested and providing honest repair and maintenance services to his customers. His rates are consistent with an independent shop, but he knows more about our cars than even the typical VW dealership employee does. I am relieved to have found someone I trust to trouble shoot any potential issues our cars will have in the future, and I prefered his service to the dealership. Not to be negative about dealerships, but those techs. that do the write up services know little to nohting about cars, so haveing the oppurtunity to work directly with the mechanic, and save a little money at the same time is appreciated.

An EEPROM genius as well. He helped me with a cluster swap and did it from a distance, as i live in Houston. All is well and programming was/is flawless. I would recommend all to Marin!

Marin cleared some fault codes for me a few months ago, and I plan on calling him tomorrow morning for some more help.

Long time lurker, recent joiner and I believe this is my 1st post. I wanted some convenience mods done with VAGCOM for my '07 B6 Sport... found Marin right here and emailed him. We set up an appointment and he got all the work done in minutes. He is professional, extremely reasonably priced, smart as a whip when it comes to German cars and very helpful with information. He is now my full time mechanic-on-retainer. I will be using his services for all of my car care needs going forward. Oh, and to top it all off, he lives right across the street from me.

Happy New Year Marin!!! Hope you and your family have a blessed year.

I need to get my car out to you next week. Need to find out what all needs to be done to get inspected. Darn shaved bays and emissions.

      CHECK IT!

another Marin story... the man keeps saving me mad money, and keeps my car as tight as she can be.

during a routine oil change and COMPLETE inspection (one of his strengths, believe me) he found a very minor exhaust leak. i had two CEL's in the last few months, and now we know why. the leak was so slight that it would have been tricky to diagnose without a very thorough inspection, which is one of the reasons i stick with Marin... his quality of service.

not just that, but he's connected enough to get top-notch dealer attention for this problem. the exhaust warranty goes to 8/80... did you know that? i didn't, and being at almost 65k, i thought i was screwed. but no, he arranged everything, and i'm getting a new cat cover next week at Boardwalk under warranty.

if any of you guys want this kind of quality service and attention, PM me for his details!

      thanks again, Marin!

Marin, I see a lot of awesome reviews about your work, ethics, and personality. I may need a few things done to my MKV R32 soon. But, could you send me your contact info so we could discuss a project I have had on hold for some time? I would appreciate talking with you tremendously! Thanks!

I'm so glad that I found this guy.
Marin did very good job on my car and prices were way lower then quote from dealership.
Specially when it comes to key programing. I end up with 2 keys for the price that dealer will charge me for just one key.
      Thank you.

My 2003 Jetta started throwing p0864 codes today, how can I get in touch with Marin? I am currently up at North Texas and I'm really not familiar with any dallas mechanics.

      Thanks for starting this thread!

This guy rocks. Marin is a total straight shooter and super down to earth about the condition of your car. The service is top notch, super efficient, most importantly in the neighborhood and not tied to a price driven dealership trying to take advantage of customers.

I took my 2001 Jetta in for some brake work and got my brakes fixed and a complete review of all the stupid recommendations the dealer told me i need when in fact i did not. Also, I am taking in my 2008 Jetta for transmission flush and tune up (quote that Marin gave me on this nobody can beat in the area)

I was very pleased by his efficiency, honesty and great service!

I cant say enough good things about Marin.....GO GO GO......
