Hey; just give Matt a shout direct [see above post in this thread #141 by "d-bot"], link is www.boltind.com in his sig line.

I bought a couple of his Mk1 rain-trays, multiple 's & 's for quality and professionalism of service.

I think the Mk2 version is "pending", versus "TOO LATE!".

Thanks for the kind words. We are currently still working on making this happen and are vested to the project. There have been many people very happy with the S1 trays and the S2 trays will happen and I am personally excited about providing another much needed item for OUR Scirocco community. At the moment we are slightly behind in where we would like to be in the process but please keep the requests and interest coming, and in due time they will be available!

Matt; a suggestion, when you ARE ready to go with these mebbe start a new thread in the Scirocco classifieds, I think people who are actively 'looking' to buy stuff tend to look there first. And mebbe a new (or newly titled) thread here, check with the forum mods, they might have some ideas also.

I'd actually discourage this, Karl. The admins have been cracking down on stuff like this, black-holing threads and banning several users in the Mk1 forum.

A nice low-key thread alerting the community to the production without directly advertising anything is the best way, IMO.

    Thanks for the correction.

OK; so I'm unclear on this, is there actually a set forum policy on "business"? I buy parts from the classifieds fairly regularly, so I'm assuming the problem is the distinction between small scale deals between individuals versus larger, more formal (and for-profit) events.

To any wandering MOD; I do much appreciate having these forums, and I don't want to run afoul of your rules (and wasn't meaning to suggest to anyone that they do so).

That said; I have a couple ideas for little simple tools to make that would make some operations on our cars easier, the way my mind works if I make one I'll perfect the design, then jig it and make a bunch and sell the excess. Earns me some beer money for my time thinking stuff up...
So how would I do that and stay kosher with the forum?

Pay for an advertiser account (hundreds per month) or put a link in your sig to a craigslist ad (free). Or just keep it on the DL in the chillest forum on Vortex.

Sorry everybody! Its my fault for the delay, so go easy on Matt. Progress has resumed on this and we hope to have some trays ready to ship before the end of the summer.

Seeing as I just wet vaccuumed both the driver and passenger foot wells of hurricane water , I would appreciate a new rain tray as well. Is there any ETA on something as wonderful as a new tray for the S2 crowd?

Anyone seen the TV commercial for Flex Seal, that spray on rubber sealant? "It's like a Handyman in a CAN!" Well, I am reaching my breaking point with the water leaking in, that I am debating on spraying the rain tray with it, top and bottom, to see if it helps. It sure can't hurt, at this point!

I know that Permatex makes some similar stuff, as does 3M, but I have no experience with either of them. I just think maybe a good coating might help!

I am surely in for a new tray when these are made, but for now, I can't stand the water leaks!

I was thinking about spraying rocker panel spray on mine. Has a rubberized/ textured coating and leaves a nice look when it dries. My raintray is in VERY good shape. I just figured that the spray will slightly strengthen the tray and add a newer look to it.

I think I will be needing a couple of these, like 3, I might have 1 in decent shape yet.

Tray is finally digitally modeled. The original file was really bad and it took a while to fix up but now it's up to spec and we aren't far off now.
