Update: big project this winter is so clean up the management and get the hardlines in. Not the most epic of projects but seeing as I'm at school and the car is in storage I can only work on it over breaks.

So being home for break this week I got a few things taken care of. I placed the order for all the air goodies I need... 7 port 5 gallon skinny tank, purchased a second 400c compressor and I have one laying around so i'll be running 3, don't ask why. All new water traps (really wasn't happy with the Numatics) and all the needed hardware and fittings for the hard lines.

Big thanks to Will, again for all the help.

Sadly I wont be able to start the majority of the project until winter break, but I started the prep work today. My current wood frame bounces around allot and doesn't fit flush. As many of you know the MKV trunk is not perfectly square. There are allot of things perturbing out and the back (toward the rear seat) is less wide then the front (in front of the hatch) This wouldn't be an issues except the lip from the trunk hangs over

Spark notes: To make a suitable stable frame like I wanted it had to be pieced together once in the trunk. After talking to GTIzlatko at H20 and seeing his setup I followed his lead with my own touch. I created a frame that expanded once the front piece slid into it's slot. Holding it firm in place.

I have the false floor and some other little things made but can't show them yet, gotta be a little exciting. Again I know it isn't much, taking it real slow since I don't have all the parts and I wont be able to finish until Winter Break.

Will have more shots of the car with new wheels and some other stuff soon

      11-29-10 update
Heard the UPS truck outside my house today and went outside to see what came. The driver was inside the truck moving things around for a few minutes. When he came out he told me he had like 3 boxes and a few long packages.

      What came in..
New tank, all my new fittings, flow controls, compressor new water traps and the long packages were bolts of fabric.

With the new frame made I started laying things out.. Not good enough. Got back on the phone with Will and ordered another compressor and some wiring needed to supply more power.
Theres allot more then what is shown in the shot below thats just what I fit in the frame for a quick cell phone pic.

RS's made by bbs.. by far the most popular wheel in the VW community. They are no longer produced but can be found and or imported. They seem popular because they are a classic wheel and one of the few wheels that looks good on ANY VW... from mk1 to mk6. Prices range on allot: condition, size, lips, additional work or if they've been refinished. vrwheels.com imports them from japan and offers re-drilling services.

      For example:
ones on my car- 17 x 8/9 polished lips, PC white centers, red caps, gold plated bolts and hex nuts + rubber.. Don't wanna talk numbers but 17 in 8/9 go for about 1400 not refinished on that site

      ones I'm refinishing-
      16 x 7/8 non refinished about 900-1000 on Vrwheels

and theres your rs lesson for today

huh...didnt know they are no longer made, well that i guess would explain why its kinda pricey, im trying to find something nice looking fairly simple, yet looks great without killing my wallet...willing to sacrifice in all areas but the wallet part lol tho im not gunna go with jiggaboo rims either so they have to be failry simple in design, obviously aftermarket (or direct bolt on rims off another car) and cant bend me over in price, thats it lol just like everyone else

If you think 1000 is expensive you may have issues getting wheels (not rims) that are.
My advice, look around nothing wrong with rushing on something. slam the ish outa your car and rock the stock wheels for a bit. I forget his name but theres a red gti super slammed static rocking vision v's (someone correct me if I am wrong) and it looks great. Don't get frustrated with prices.. save up and get the wheels you want. Dont make a quick decision on a poor wheel choice from pepboys
