Reupholstering interiors... so far i've done only mk2 jettas and golfs but i'm willing to expand my horizons. I have done headliners, sunroofs with fun patterns, door cards, and front seats, (not rear yet), recovered A,B, and C pillers, parcel shelves, and other parts. ....

Let me know what your opinions and thougts are,
      Thanks

Do you think you could do anything with the map pockets? They look so cheap as they are.

note the embroidered VOLKSWAGEN along the bottem in the front door cards.

I reupholstered the passengers side so far to match my back seats, with NOS seat material from some guy in PA on Ebay for 90 bucks a seat

I'm trying to find a thread from 2008 between myself and this guy named Sandrunner, can't find it anywhere.... must not have been archived. Anyway, when I was doing my seats, he helped me out a lot with pictures and everything. What kind of seats are youw working with? Are they the three part with the bolsters seperate from the centers or are the bolsters one with the center?

well you could find a set of doorcards that have the large pockets with the pullout compartment or the speaker instead of the map pockets. Thats what I would do. If you are interested in a set I have ones for a 4 door, but they are standard grey and black. with the speaker grills

The "Press" button is to tilt the sunroof.

If you press it and continue to wind the handle into the closed position after the sunroof is closed, then the sunroof will tilt.

As far as I know, it was only available in sciroccos, and would have been swapped in a mk2.... lucky bastard.

i think that's part of why people don't like it. Cheap materials tend to look cheap. Otherwise, it's cool, just a little rough around the edges. I've been contemplating DIY upholstery myself, and I'm fairly certain my first attempts will probably look a little dodgy. Just keep at it if its something you like to do.

I have no expectations about money yet so thats not a problem, not really the goal either, haha i know I have a ways to go, but this work is only the beginning. And I sadly don't have any extra recaros lying around haha, I need to find some more sport seats myself for future projects...

I can understand that, it was really only for fun, kinda saw it and went "wow that might be interesting" but also the burlap is very rough to the skin. Its difficult finding materials that are easy to work with. Those door cards may not have a lot of curves but where they do it's a pain in the a$$ to get the material to mold and stay in place.

      Hahaha, saw this coming.

I initially thought the thread was going to be asking who does it.
