[QUOTE=karcher;67529432]working on this little project for the rabbit while the car is going in for paint
What is the wood and metal seams for in these pics?
btw, car looks good. take some pics of the interior.![]()
#82
its the back seat truck area, he's seriously slacked on this thread as i have seen the car in person and its def waaay nicer than this thread lets on
#83
wow, forgot about the thread. yes he is correct, it is the process for getting the planks for the rear section. The car came empty with no back seats so i thought utilize the space for what it is. and its a great area to throw your beach stuff and if it gets sandy you just brush it up. better than a carpet. here are some of the finished shots of that project.
maybe you guys can help me out. I hate the seats that came in the car. they're worn mk3 seats i believe. I want something different but how different im not sure. maybe just a nice set of fabric seats or i was even thinking of fitting a bench seat up front. there would be some work involved in that of course.. any ideas welcomed

I dig the colours, absolutely love the interior mate. You are a craftsman with an eye for detail.![]()

working on a wire mild wire tuck/ shave.
heres how it started
intake i made up to replace the ugly plastic box. this will bolt onto the manifold with holes i tapped in
cutting up the wire harness
new harness will go in the fender well
painting timing and valve cover
what it looks like so far. i deleted the heater core so i had to weld shut the coolant flange that comes off of the head. Deleted the coolant resevoir by buying a scirocco radiator. Moved the battery under the dash where the heater core was and now have to build a center console setup to hide it.
finished the driver side filler panel last night. it will cover the frame rails and cover the gap and hole to the ground. i think it just looks cleaner and simplified. no other real benefit to having it done.
its not some magazine cover shave, lol but its come a long way. im only looking for cleaner.

I like what I see in this thread- I like how everyone was all up in arms at first... typical mk1 forum fashion
