So I finally installed my Clarivue screen protector on my RNS 510 !
It was a very easy very straightforward install, just clean the screen with included LCD cleaning cloth, remove static backing, place the protector on correctly, remove front static cover and you're done !
There is no glue involved, just static (and it's pretty strong) so easy to remove and re-use.
I took the "ultra-clear" finish which is "shiny", it matches the piano black surround in shine, makes the screen look more high def for some reason, so far no complaints on reflections but they do offer a "anti-glare" version.
    I got it from here:
    http://www.clarivue.com/volkswagen-r...protector.html
After using two coupons it ended up being $14.39 shipped
    Coupons I used were:
    Clarivue7
    clear123
If those are expired when you read this thread, just Google "clarivue coupon".
    Enjoy !

Just picked one up.. The only coupon code that still works is the clear123 just for anyone else deciding to give it a try.

What a great product! Do you get any glare from the sun? The stock face seems anti-glare. Any issues with the clear?

    still good !
My friend that has a 2010 GTI with RCD510 rode in the car today, the first thing he asked was how I got a high definition screen ! it's that obvious, it makes the screen look so much clearer !

as far as stopping the glare you mean ?

the one I have (not the anti glare version) does reflect some light, but it's not bothering as I can still see/read what's on the screen

is the screen protector actually a bit smaller than the screen itself? the one i received was a bit bigger than the screen so i had to tuck the extras into the trim around the screen. now by doing this, all 4 corners and sides does not lay flat.

this happened in one corner on mine too. I bought 2 so when I redo it I will try to slide it under the trim before I lay it down. other the that one corner tho I thing it looks great.

Unfortunately I screwed up the install...

Make sure it's absolutely positively dust free or you will have bubbles...

mine looked so ugly that i had to remove it and its garbage now. it was a bitch to remove because the corners were tucked in. i suggest u not doing it again if you only have one corner sticking out, mine had all 4 corners and all 4 sides sticking out.

i emailed clarivue about this problem and they said that all their screen protectors were cut in stacks so they should be all the same size and said that it may be VW that is inconsistant with the screen size.

What do you clean yours with?

It looks great and I don't want to clean the dust and smudges with something that might ruin the film.

I also don't want to buy their pre-moistened cleaning tissues. Their web site doesn't mention any thing about cleaning and keeping it looking clear and hi-def.

I actually use a swiffer duster in my car does a great job at taking the dust out and sooooo easy to use in the car. As for the smudges I just use a regular cotton towel that I keep in the car if I ever need to wipe something off (the smaller hand towels you know like you have in the bathroom to dry your hands).

I use those soft towels...NOT TERRY TOWELS to clean the smudges occasionally. As for the initial install, just follow the easy instructions and all will be good.

I installed the same one on our 2012 Jetta, not sure if it's a different material or what but it seems to get dirty MUCH faster, fingerprints all over mine doesn't do that.

Thank you guys. So both of you do not use any liquid to clean them.

you guys don't seem very interested in my alternative, but the bestskinsever product doesn't attract dust, is not vulnerable to washing (scrub away) and doesn't take fingerprints.

    It's incredibly tough and resilient.

I had the clarivue before, this is way WAY better.

    www.bestskinsever.com

and NO I don't work for them.
