I think I have one of the sets, though I haven't decided if I like 'em on such a stark (Alpine White) background. Of course, fodder for the obscure parts collection is cool too.

i used that Mothers Back to Black all summer, and it took the trim from the color of the car, to what it is now... not as much of an improvement as i would have liked... [but it worked a little] i am going to try Forever Black next. just been too busy fixing the mechanical issues and getting my heat / air to work now that its getting cold. was battling oil and coolant issues all summer...

    Paint them.

SEM Trim spray or Krylon Fusion in satin black.

I have done everything from heat gunning trim, to Kiwi, to all the other blackening products. BY FAR painting them is the best method I've used.

yeah, that was my last resort. Forever black was designed for and used by [also sold by] VW dealerships back in the 80's and early 90's. the bumpers would fade on the lot before customers bought them, and this is what the dealerships used to make them look new again. i was going to give this a try first, and if it didn't work, i was going to do the SEM trim spray.

Still haven't heard anything. My fear is that it was stolen for parts and is either headed back East or into the States. Parting it here in BC would be next to impossible.

oh yeah, and i will still be on my current coilovers

i am running a 31 offset on my 8.5" RS up front... you can fit a higher offset than 20...
the rear of a wagon is where the trouble is. i rub[bed] rim on spring with an offset of 21... i didn't account for the more vertical orientation of the strut when i built my rims. you need a minimum of 12mm less in the rear, whereas on a Corrado / mk3 / mk2 its only an 8mm difference
[this measurement is taken from the top of the rim to the spring]

the B3 is the same as the Corrado in that the VR has "plus suspension." So on the 16v or G60 [syncro] models fitting 9's up front is fairly easy. it is a little trickier to fit them on a VR, but it is doable

Offtopic.. In europe first 91 B3 VR6's had the same subframe and contorl arms than G60/8V models, 92 came the wider "plus" version. Those have also 280mm 5x100 hubs/brakes, but with very hard to find 280mm "high offset" brake disc.. Like 130€/piece and VW dealer...
