Sorry for the thread jack, anyone in this thread running ST/KW V1 coils ? Bout to purchase a set and I'm worried it won't be low enough. Raceland Ultimo is back ordered and their spring rates are not Passat specific, IE same as the Golf/Jetta.

I used KW variant 1's on my syncro. They'll go plenty low and the ride is top notch. All of my friends always said "I can't believe how nice the ride is with how low this sits". Not bouncy either. There was a good bit of thread left and my front lip sat under 2" off the pavement. I hope to buy a set for my wagon next month. gripmotorsports had the best price shipped. $1130 shipped from germany & at my house in a week.

ANY COILOVERS FROM THE MK2/3 CHASSIS WILL RIDE BETTER ON A B3/4 BECAUSE THE SHOCK BODIES ARE SHORTER FROM THE GET GO.......

My wagon still has three inches of threads to go down with the helpers still installed. When people FINALLY realize this and stop wasting money on high end coilovers for these cars will be the day.

Hopefully the same day everybody realizes their Vette wheels LOOK TERRIBLE.

I haven't wasted any money. Considering what I have into my Audi's suspension, $11 hundo ain't that bad.
Variant II's might have been a waste of money as it's not a track car, but not I's. I like to drive my cars really hard on the very, very bad mountain roads around here littered with frost heaves, potholes and washouts and often am pounding down dirt roads, too (I live on a dirt road). I average 500+ miles/wk & I don't want my teeth rattling all day on a set of racelands. No offense to raceland owners. They make a great product which they seem to stand behind well. They're just not my thing.

I'm with you on the vette wheels--everyone please stop!

The implication being that coilovers for the MK3 platform will bolt right in? Or do you have to do some fabrication? Inquiring minds would like to know.

For 2wd cars it's a bolt on. The only differece is rear hardware. If it's for the syncro in your sig, syncro's have shorter rear struts and require syncro specific rear suspensions. The fronts are the same. Syncro kits are made, just not common in the US.

You could get likely make up for the shorter shocks on a syncro when using coilovers, they just won't lower the car as far in the rear. But low is lame its all about stock!

The point is, if on the b3 platform you spin the collars of your mk3 racelands down enough to teeth-rattle height, your car will be sitting on the rockers with the wheels 1" off the ground.

doesn't look too bad. I woulda painted the hood one color though, and the grille to match. Might as well since you just got it painted anyway. You can always do a vinyl stripe. Or maybe that's what you did? Get some Hella covers for the lamps also looks like it could use another buffing..

Lose the stacked lips, the silly front lamps, paint your grill, and it'll be much better. That stripe is also a no-no.

Good Lord people, has this become the Mk4 forum? TOugh crowd in here today.

The wagon looks fine. Not feeling the flat black on the hood, but it's otherwise fine. Get some better shots when it's clean.
