Fender roller (flattened), trimmed fender liners, stretched tires. Recipe for success

      Negative camber helps too!

I rarely scrape my tires now. If I do, it's only on the fender liner, which isn't worth caring about.

The rubber is stronger than the fender liner - they'll wear through the liner. Negative camber will wear the inside of the tire faster than the outside though.

My Syncro has -2.5 degrees of camber in the front, and -4.5 in the rear. Over 7000km I don't see any difference in tire wear.

Nope. They zipper (correct term for tearing) only when they rub. I believe you are referring to the pic Deeevo posted of a 205/40 on a 9" Borbet type A. His tire rubbed against the spring perch and wore out. Eventually getting weak to the point where it blew.

Drift cars always run stretched tires for clearance and less traction. And I drive pretty hard on mine. No issues.

I cannot camber in because I am running an 8.5" rim front and back.

      not bad, kevinbacon.

bring the front a touch more down and you'll have it.

Yeah, that minor adjustment & it's spot on. Now, my standard question; specs on the wheels/tires & adapters, if you please. I'm looking to sort my '91 out & want to see what numbers other people are running.

Wow! About time we had a stance thread! There's some real nice stuff in here.

I've spotted a couple of poor stances in here as well though. One that stands out and I can quite happily name and shame is my own car - on cream 17" Azev A's - total fail!!! Lets keep it stanced guys...

    22. 09-30-2010 04:28 PM #93
And while I'm here, I guess it'd be rude not to show you how I've stepped my game up since those days (what was I thinking?!?!)

      Hope-u-like

Thanks! Yours looks great on those KW's too, they suit the car so well.

I'm also loving the black sedan on polished 928's - that sits nice!

Im on Rokkor's and it rides like a god damned Caddilac.

The valving in the rear could stand to be a little stiffer, but I can overlook that. The spring rates are spot on though.
