I would expect the motors that allow you to adjust the mirrors from the driver's door are also capable of aiming the mirror in question down for parking. (That seems to be the way it works in my BMW.)

Not having the option on any NA cars is also concerning, but I've seen others select some Euro only features with some luck.

I was thinking that you might have to go in and select which mirror you wanted to move. Our UK friends probably want their mirrors "wrong," too.

      Appreciate the reply. Anybody else?
      from OrientExpress over on GolfMK6:

      http://www.golfmk6.com/forums/archiv...p/t-12011.html

For US cars, the mirror adjusting servo motor has to be changed to the highline one, and the door controller needs to be swapped out for the highline controller as well. In addition the necessary wiring additions need to be done between the mirror and the controller.

These parts are in the US CC catalog.
      also some notes from Ross-Tech:

I was wondering about that mirror lowering feature as well (noticed that check box in VCDS). I presume it won't work on a 2010 GTI.

I have a new 2011 JSW TDI. I was playing abound with VDCS and found what appears to be an option that lowers what I assume to be the right side mirror to aid in parallel parking. I have this feature on a BMW and it's nice to have. (I have some nice Anthracite Goals I want to avoid scratching up!).

All I did was to check the appropriate option for mirror lowering, exit the long code assist, and then "do it." The code did take, but the mirrors haven't lowered when I've selected reverse. I will see if there's an adaption setting that applies to this. (The adaption lets you set specific parameters, like "Bitchin' Betty's" volume for voice dialing, courtesy flash #s, etc.)

Anybody have any experience with mirror lowering? If it's known not to work, I'd appreciate not having to chase that goose...

P.S. - The absolute best code to copy down is your initial coding from the factory. I started a running log, but there's nothing like being able to roll all the way back to factory.
Mirror lowering will not work unless your car has memory seats (the ones that have 4 buttons on the side of the seat: 1, 2, 3, and SET). The reason for this is that without memory seats, your car has no clue what position your seat or mirror is in, thus, it does not know where to put the mirror so that it will point appropriately for you. Also, even if you some how did code the mirror to point down in reverse, it would have no clue what setting to move the mirror back to when you put it in drive...

Since no MK6 Golfs/Sportwagens have this in the US (or Canada, I believe) there is nothing that can be done to program this to work properly...

There are many things that would be fairly low per unit that VW decided not to do for us! If the vehicle does not have that option installed, VW does not even run harnesses to that area to make it "somewhat" plug and play...

      Seatbelt: http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...1#post67369002

I did this for a friend with a 2011 and when I coded this, the instrument cluster coded itself for UK English and the voice for the bluetooth changed to. The way to fix this, is to change the language back to English on the instrument cluster.

There's no way to disable the headlight chime that I'm aware of...only disable the DRLs...

      ok. thank you.

installing a euro switch would eliminate the drls wouldnt it?
could just turn the switch to off?

or will they stay on regardless

No, a euro switch by itself wouldn't eliminate it. Plus, on a Golf, you need to add a trigger wire to make it work properly...but disabling the DRL works with the stock switch...

      appreciate the feedback.
just curious.. with the euroswitch, does it just work once installed?
the off, running lights, and auto feature?
or do you have to change vag code to make it function properly?

is it possible to change comfort blinks ?
the default is 3 but its not enough, i need 4

possible to change kessy so that i don't have to hold my thumb while the windows and sunroof retract ?

possible to do a gauge needle sweep when starting up ?

If changing it in VCDS (VAGCOM) doesn't work, try this link.

I did this on my MKVI 2.5L Golf with the Multi Funtion Display.
      Activate the MFI/MFD
      go into Setup>Convenience>Open Door>Manual
Select All Doors and then select Back on each window until you exit the MFI/MFD

I don't have sunroof or kessy, but my guess would be no.

It depends on your Cluster Version. Check out this thread.

Press the volume knob power button once the key is off. The radio will come on without the key.

That's what I do right but it's just an annoyance which I was hoping to code out.
It must be an RNS thing since almost every other car including the regular Golf maintains the radio on when I shut down the car.

      Oh well...

More like a MkVI thing. All of them do the same, not just RNS.

I'd give up the play after shutdown for a touch screen or NAV, but I am too cheap to spend that much dough on a head unit.
