      Some further works underway, a long way away in Germany! I've just received some updated pics and thought I'd share... getting very strapped for time now

      My engine parts have finally been released by customs after 6 weeks (asssssholes), so I'll finish assembling the engine next week and get some pics of that.

      For now, though, here is some more carbon I'm not sure sure I'll use all the parts on this particular car, but some were thrown in as part of a package works price, so I wasn't exactly going to say no.

      There's still one more final touch to be done, but I'll leave this until it's bolted to the engine

      Those CF pieces are awesome - way to give an old classic some modern feel - esp since it's not just a straight resto job.

      though the CF is over the top, it flows really well (i'm a fan)
      red centers are nice, but loud to me. still gonna look dope as hell rolling!

      props to very inspirational work and really making this thing your own.
      the old chromy joint was/is equally as sick

      TBH, I kinda agree - a little less poke at the back would be nice, but I'll see how it looks when I put the camber plates in this weekend. I do actually have some other outers to pull the width back to 8.5", so I might end up splitting the wheels and putting these back on. For now, I'm soon to move interstate, so I'm just busting my ass trying to get it finished so that I don't have to trailer it around

      Spent most of the day doing wheel alignments today. I've set up the rear camber and toe to neatly tuck the 16x9s under - which meant removing and reinstalling the rear hubs countless times along with the springs for clearance checks etc. The stance is WAY better now with the excessive poke at the rear gone.

      I have a neat pendulum style wheel alignment gauge, which is a big help when doing this and saves a few hundred bucks hiring a laser aligner for the day.

      There's now 15mm spacers behind the front wheels aswell, pegging back the ET to a pretty serious +8. This was the only way to clear the brake kit, though... does look better too, having said that.

      Front camber is at -3.5deg, around 1mm toe in and rear is at -3deg, around 2mm toe in. I have a full specs written down in my log book, so will post these up with the spec sheet later on.

      Well, it's been a hectic few days, but one of them involved driving the car

      To cut a very long story short, I noticed the breather filling up during the drive and there was a slight miss under load, so I was getting concerned already. Sure enough, after I limped the car back home, it was a head gasket How or why I'm yet to find out, but it'll have to wait another month as I'm back working interstate so can't get anywhere near the car

      Anyway, enough bad news! Here are some extra progress pics - still have to fit the remaining carbon trim, side stripes, badges etc, but this is how it looked before I slipped out the drive for the maiden voyage

Brass bush dimensions are 33mm long, 8mm ID, 12.5mm OD, steps on ends are 9.85mm OD, thicker body is 25.75mm long, leaving smaller dia ends at about 3.63 mm each end.

      Lower row is OE early 02A, with VWM shortened version below, and then later 02A/J version to the right which works with the other bracket above it.

      Edit: it's the early Corrado stuff that was used on the VW Motorsport cars (ie stuff on left) - the ones on the RHS weren't used.

      I've machined up some flat caps for it, but I'm not totally sold on the look... they almost make the wheels look too clean - I kinda like the rough, mechanical look of running no caps. I may change my mind, though

      I do have all the shifter parts info somewhere - will dig it up later on today (it's the morning in Aus right now!)
