How's it going, mate? Hadn't seen the new car; looks great!! Love the bumpers & front lip.

Now, the seatbelt mounting points... Any way to move those up higher?

I didn't see it listed anywhere, so I am wondering what dash you are using?

Your attention to detail is great. The car looks amazing, and it is my favorite color. You said you were going to drive it hard. While picture perfect cars are nice, I can't wait to see the first shots of it covered in road and track grime.

I do need to weld some harness bars into the cage, but I'll do this before I take it be engineered/insured

Your car is making is making some nice progress too

Don't worry, it'll get raised up and driven properly - the best part

wow i dont know how i missed this build till now but its amazing.

you should move the harnesses up to a more correct level, heaven forbid they ever need to serve the main purpose. keep up the great work!

K-tech did all the curved and molded stuff. I did most of the flat panels myself - I did try with the larger curved things, but I could never get the weave flowing neatly in one direction once I built up some layers.

I've been holding off on engine bay pics as I'm still waiting for the remaining carbon stuff for the engine (K-Tech is incredibly slow to deal with - as in 6-12 months wait for custom stuff!!). When I'm 100% happy, I'll post some pics

The dash is from an Ibiza Mk2/Polo Mk4. They're a great fit in a Mk1 and don't look too modern

It'll get dirty... but be cleaned thoroughly afterwards

So it's been a while, but I'm pretty much there. There's a few niggling problems to sort out as well as plenty of detailing here & there, but I'll work through the list slowly... It's officially on the roads, though

...And I know it could be lower, but it does get used properly, so I'm keeping a sensible ride height to maintain some wheel travel

    More soon

pretty awesome rabbit, this is what defines SUPER CLEAN. the GTi grill with the red lip makes that white pop like a firework too. you gotta post a video of this thing running man.

I had to import them to Aus (along with pretty much every part on the car) so I'm sure you can import stuff to the States

Honestly, I actually agree with you, so appreciate the constructive criticism I'm not sold on the stance either... it looked a lot better sitting far lower, but that's not really my bag - I actually want to drive the car so it's far nicer not sitting on the bump stops... plus I spent mega bucks on suspension so it's nice to get some good ride quality.

I ran 15x8s on my last rabbit and that was a good mix between show and race - might have gone too show with the wheels this time around, but that can change soon

    every car does..

finally someone who understands the whole point of an expensive suspension, i applaude you
thats why i run 16s, so that the car does not look so awfully high, wich it actually is.

I still have a lot of tidying up to do - need to finish the carbon panels in the rear and plenty of tidying up of leads and wiring around the engine. I'll get a bit more done this weekend and post up some better pics

Most of the carbon is custom made by K-Tech in Hagen I did the flat panels myself, but anything else is K-Tech.

They're probably much the same thing. These have slightly fewer tapped holes (less adjustment) but look similar otherwise

Personally I love the car just the way it is. Wheels/tires are great. The best part about this car is that its original ~ I haven't seen anything else like it.

I feel that the people who would have you change it, are working off a 'I like these cars' mentality. No offense, but this is truly a unique car in a sea of 'trendy' ones. The criticism given seems to be trying to pull you into trendy. Its like the mentality against your rims is: " Don't use 16s, haven't you seen that 'boob-vs-tires' picture? ~ You don't want a chick with big boobs do ya?"

Frankly, this is one of those cars that steals the show sitting right beside the 'been-there-done-that' crowd. Very well done.
