I read online last night, that they do owe Shanahan several million dollars, and they'll owe McDaniels 2 million. Unless they can get out of paying him because of spygate 2.

this is great.... maybe we'll get lucky and the Texans will fire Kubiak. Then we could bring him back to coach.

Broncos news conference starts around 11am. At he very least it should be interesting to see why Josh was fired and if we’ll have to pay him.

The Broncos have hired John Fox as their head coach:

Agreed, I like the hire. Rumor in Denver is that McCoy will be the OC.

      Wow, they're trading Kyle Orton!

      Guess it's Tebow's world now.

McGahee, 3 year 7.5 million. No deal for Orton yet, seems as if no one wants him or wants to give us what we want for him. He will probably just get cut now. Some say to keep him for a backup but not for the kind of money he's making.

The Orton/Tebow saga continues. Kyle will be the starter. As long as we have him we might as well let him try to win us some games. He says he's playing the best football of his career. If he could just get a little more mobile and stop taking phantom sacks I'd be all for him.

People keep forgetting that Elway looked like crap out on the field in his first season,
and his accuracy for most of his career wasn't too great. He always had strength,
but not touch. He developed touch much later in his career.

The huge different between Orton and Tebow is that the latter has the intangible called
will. Orton doesn't have the ability to will the game and will the team to victory. Elway
had that. And people know Tebow has that.

However, as good as Orton is performing, it makes it easy on the coaching staff to
keep him as the starter. Maybe with a strong running game, Orton won't have to put
the game on his shoulders too often. This whole situation is being twisted into a negative,
when having three quality QBs on the roster is a huge positive.

As long as Knowshon Moreno stays healthy I'm expecting a huge year in John Fox's run-first offense.

Well, someone had to bring this thread back up to the top!

I thought Denver would tank big-time in Oakland, but the second half
      was amazing.

I was yelling at the TV, wondering why on earth they wouldn't let Tebow
throw the damned ball, especially on play-action, since Oakland had
the entire team, coaching staff, and water boys up close to the line of
      scrimmage.

Play-action off the read-option is definitely in the future, however!

Great game yesterday. Say what ya want about Tebow but he gives us best chance to win. I hope we go on a run soon.

How weird is this? Won another game.

Now we play the Jets in Denver this Thursday night. According to the latest stats,
the Jets are 15th against the run, so if I were them, I'd be planning on playing
the run pretty much every play, 'cause there's no way Tebow will be throwing
      much against that secondary!

I wasn't able to watch the game yesterday, but 2/8 in Passing? Woah!

I got to watch the Oakland game, but not the KC game. Obviously the 8 attempts
is on purpose. I don't know why he's missing receivers, but clearly his best pass
is long and over the middle for a TD.

It'll be interesting to see the Jets game. I'm looking forward to it!

One effect of all of the running is time of possession: our defense remains well
rested, and as a result, they seem to be playing pretty well.

I'm not really a Denver fan, nor am I a Tebow super fan, but I'm really sick of hearing sport casters attempt to tare down Tebow's play. If I hear "He only completed 2 passes" followed by laughter, again, I'm going to punch something. That's all they nay-sayer's can say about him. Never mind the 20 touchdowns he has this year or the fact that he's 3-1 as a starter and took his last place team to 2nd place and a legitimate shot at the playoffs. Or his spectacular college career and high school careers. 2 NCAA Football Championships, the Heisman, the Maxwell Award, the O'Brien Award, and the Sullivan Award. I just think the NFL has drank the Tebow Hateraid and now it's spreading. I hope Denver takes the AFC West so they can all STFU.

Sorry to invade your thread. Just an NFL fan who's sick of the Tebow bashing.

I am not a Tebow hater by any means. My brother is a HUGE Florida fan so I would live to see him play well.

But completing 2 passes is laughable.

And he has 9 TD this year not 20.

Success in College is sometimes meaningless. Its a different game. Charlie Ward won the Heisman right? Turned out to be a decent NBA player, but he certainly wouldnt have been drafted high in the NFL.

      sorry... 20 total
      9 this year

    22. 11-16-2011 08:29 AM #72
Steve Young is a huge defender of Tebow. He was also a lefty, with a really
strange throwing motion, who could run, that everybody said wouldn't succeed
      or last and etc.

He's in the Hall of Fame.

Tebow is a rookie and totally different than the standard model, so there's
      bound to be criticism.

Anyway, this is a few games into his career. Right now, the Jets are coming to
town and they will be highly motivated having just lost to New England. One
loss or bad game and all of the boo birds will be back out in force.

      Should be a great game!

      Good job reviving this thread!

I'm excited for the game tonight. Quitting time keeps getting earlier as the game gets closer . I think Denver wins by 7. Denver's rush is absolutely amazing right now, the Jets are coming off of a short week, and finally Denver should have won the game last year if it wasn't for a petty PI call. I think enough Broncos remember the game from last year.

I also love that we’re running a run option right now. I think this style of play will only help the broncos as they get back to championship form. It allows the broncos to work on their two biggest areas of need, rushing and defense. This will only help the team regardless of who the QB is next year.

The option like the wild cat offense has a shelf life and doesnt work in the NFL over long periods of time. You cant trick good defenses for very long.

Being one dimensional is a bad thing.

The Key is to keep the game close and get ahead. If they get behind 2 td against a the Jets will Tebow be able to play catch up against Revis ect?

      Cant wait for the game.
