    Home Made Audi style grill

Wow! I like this a lot, I'm trying to find a spare grille so I can do exactly this and have the option to go back to stock if I want to. Did you mask off and plasti dip?

Almost forgot about this thread and figured I should update it with what I have done since the Dogbone insert.

Did my front brakes today! Big thanks goes out to dhambrick and his super detailed thread on doing the front brakes, worked like a charm! http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...-brake-R-R-DIY
Installed Akebono Euro Ceramic Pads http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/brake...=&dtab=Reviews that were recommended to me by my dudes at http://www.germanautoparts.com/ (tirerack is just a link as GAP doesent have them on their site). I was kind of nervous as I never heard of them but immediately noticed the difference. I didn't need to change my fronts. I had the PBR Ultimate Ceramics (installed less than 5000 miles ago which were basically like new) which I was not impressed with especially after going to these new pads and actually feeling a difference (and yes a difference from when the PBRs originally went on). Reason I changed is the left side had an awful squeal which was so loud I could not take it anymore. I was told it was probably a defect in the pad and it happens but never the less no more PBRs for me

    Cleaned the interior today

    Footwell LEDs on

Shots with my new VW roof rack with color matched Rockymount bike racks
http://www.rockymounts.com/ installed which I did last weekend.

Thats a sick head unit, what model number is it? I went on their website and they have one that is similar but not exactly like yours.

Any details on this? My alignment guy didn't seem to have an issue, but I swear it's either the strut mounts or my endlinks causing my suspension (or the ball joints on the endlinks) to resettle after every drive.

Other than that...just drove the piss out of her again today. With this cool weather finally reaching SC, the k04 and tranny have been performing flawlessly. Expect a full review on the APR s3 K04 conversion within the next few days.

That was my first thought, but I have verified all bolts are torqued to the correct spec. Guess I'll crawl under there again tomorrow and have a look...also need to verify my tranny-side engine mount is still secured, but I hate dealing with that battery box and AT coolant junction box.

I just ordered new slotted front rotors and pads for all four corners and some new brake fluid. Soon enough I'll be putting them in and changing the fluid.

I'll also be getting my Zender Tuners refinished in the coming weeks as well.

Sorry to hear about the wreck! Hopefully everyone was okay. Looking forward to seeing her after she's all healed up.

    Today...

-Gave The Fräulein her first hosing since moving to Rhode Island.
-Repainted a visible section of the front lip scuffed from road debris.
-After realizing we probably have a month or so of decent weather ahead, re-fitted rear spacers...added fronts; 15mm /10mm, respectively. Fitted and rolled 20mm/15mm, but rear was the mobile Mecca of rub-itude.

Pulled the battery and auto trans junction box and verified all bolts on the BFI/OEM transmission mount were still torqued properly...they were. Verified all bolts on the VF side engine mount were torqued correctly...they were. Finally, removed my old ECS torque arm insert and installed my new lower engine (dogbone) mount.

    Pics of old ECS insert...

Pics of new BFI insert and PowerFlex bushing (decided to go with this set-up over the 034 solid mount after speaking with people at H2O about the 034 mount's additional vibrations)...

Finally found the annoying rattle coming from the engine bay/subframe. The two bolts that hold the heatshield that protects the inner CV joint on the passenger side axle had become loose. Added a drop of threadlock to each bolt and retorqued the bolts.
