well... I did the thermostat today, clear errors vgacom, refill coolant,..... what a Pain! took me more then 6 hours... i know..not to much experience in mechanic but done!:face palm:

the problem was a error in cooling performance system...so the car warm up normally...but when i start driving the temperature start going down so from 200 to 170 160 150...specially here the temps are low ... well reading online it means open thermostat ..so got not choice. it cost me $42 at dealer .thats it!
      thanks.

Found some time today to install it!

Was apprehensive about this before it came as a lot of people were saying no chance but I'm happy.
I have the same unit and love it. Is that tv? I haven't gotten around to fiddling with that or the dvd function. I haven't tried importing pics either, not sure if it's possible or not but I need to read up on it a bit...

Pics don't do it justice but I added the nut tree upper trim today. I was going to wrap the whole thing in brushed titanium but decided to buy the nut tree upper pieces and will wrap the lower as soon as my vinyl comes in this week.

Installed a new set of Conti ExtemeContact DWS 235/45R17s to replace factory GY Eagle LS2 that made it to 65,000 miles. My god has the noise level dropped dramtically. I had no idea the tires had gotten so loud. I actually heard wind noise for the first time in a year. Also had a bluetooth call on the highway without yelling. The turn in is so much better.

Only downside is I bought a used E46 M3 ZCP on Friday and now the Passat feels like the softest, cushiest, laziest 1970's caddy pimp-mobile. The steering feels way to overboosted, eseats feel like a lazy-z-boy.

I still pulls great though and in gear, in sport it pulls pretty similarly to the M3 until about 6K rpm where the M keeps pulling to 8K rpm.

How do you like the unit and how is the GPS update support?

Unit is great, I'm answering because as said above, its the exact same!

http://youtu.be/z00odxlQ9UU this is live tv, it was recorded on my phone and then youtube compresses so not the most amazing quality but gives you a great idea!

As for the GPS, great signal, I've mounted my antenna behind the hazard button, when the unit is out there's plenty of space behind there, as for updating it, tones of maps, support and help online, all free.

Its very similar to the Garret turbo, there a little more expensive @ ~1400$ for a ball bearing turbo that is rated at 590 HP, its in between a GT3071 and GT3076 from what I've been told. being ball bearing it spools faster and its the same kit tht they are using in there house MKV that's now just under 500whp (they have improved the tune since the video)

Stoked...great presentation by podi. Opening the box was like the equivalent of foreplay

Hopefully the bsh boost tap will come in tomorrow as scheduled. Even if it does, it looks like I have to wait until Monday to instal it. I'm going up with my pops to LA this weekend so he can buy a car. He has been so impressed with the B6 that he is getting a 2009 CC. I've convinced him that he needs a vag com cable. lol, Not thinking of myself at all...

Unfortunately....the boss (wife) already sees that I have a project car (5.0 Mustang). So any mods that I do with my Passat have to be carefully planned. Quietly installed, when she isn't home. And somewhat hidden so she doesn't notice.

I want to get coilovers put on so this spring, so I told her the other day that the rear springs were starting to go. And that the owners manual says that they need to be replaced before 80k miles. Not totally lying....but not totally honest either.

Ordered a set of 4 Continental Extreme Contact DWS for the B6 from Discount Tire Direct.

There is a $160 charge to get them across the border without extra duties. If I had them shipped to a DTD authorized installer in Ogdensburg NY, the price diff would have only been $100. To me, that $100 savings isn't worth the drive across the border, drive back, stress crossing the border, etc.

So, five to seven business days I'll get them and then get my local to do the install.
