I do it the unsafe way with my flip hd in my right hand and stay in sport. I'm thinking you could put someone in the seat behind you and have them film over your shoulder.

    Looks great John!

Not sure if this is possible so excuse me if its not. But what I think would look cool is if you were to replace the "gti" with a plain aluminum insert. And then put a Wolfsburg edition badge on it. The same one that comes on the Wolfsburg B6.

The inserts on these things will come out, but only with some convincing and I'm worried about scratching it. Mine is the Polo GT badge, when people ask I just say my B6 is a Grand Touring model.

Got my turn signal, cruise control, and windshield wiper stalks replaced. The turn signal stalk had a little spot of wear on the top edge of the soft touch coating from actually using the turns My tech is a badass so he just replaced all 3. The new replacements have different writing on them (i guess they're the ones from the 2010s), looks great! Also replaced the struts in the trunk and the hood as they weren't as springy as i'd like anymore.

Also finally got my phaeton dead pedal in after 2 months of waiting (backorder). Gonna have that bad boy in tomorrow.

    Looks Awesome!

...I was about to buy the same type of GTI wheel but am reconsidering now since I need buy a new harness and SWCM for the mod....so might go for an MK6 instead if I can find one for a reasonable price.

These went on today, the installation turned out a lot easier then what I thought it would be.
As you can see on the left outers some of the diodes don't work, so next is a new outer tail light then I'll delete the center parking lights to get the double donut effect.

I stuffed some beige felt in between some dash plastics where the dash meets the center console and hopefully this will stop the freakin' annoying squeaking. Man, my B5 interior was never this squeaky.

Saw some used wheels/tires on Craig's List from a guy at a foreign car repair shop and price was too good to pass up, in spite of a spot of curb rash. Can you believe these were his "winter set" 'cuz I guess the pilot sports are "all season"

    Also deleted the splash guards.

Center cap swap was a tricky bish as the center bores are a couple of mm larger on Audi (55mm on VW wheel vs. 56.5mm on Audi) so the VW caps were loose and rattling around. Nothing a little bit of neoprene insulating tape couldn't solve (cut a couple of small strips and adhered in to cap back mounting fingers to cork up the fit).

Now, to reset the TPMS, bane of my existence....

p.s. Anyone know how to spot fix small curb rash areas?

Finally did some work on my '06:

Replaced Air filter, Cabin filter, spark plugs, parking bulb, and topped off the oil.

I thought getting the engine cover off was a pain, getting the clips off the coil packs was ridiculous for some reason, but only on 1. The rest was a breeze. Driving experience isn't night and day, but it does feel a little smoother. Here's some pics for fun:

Hard to get to and unfortunately I had to pull the wires to actually get it out (yikes). The grips you see are hardly accessible:

Changed out left front axle, was real easy. I can't believe shops charge so much to do it.
