Started my head unit install...I am keeping my GPS unit and adding a Kenwood single din in place of the coin holder/power outlet (Outlet is being moved, not removed...I use it too much ). I have one pic but it's not much to look at just yet.

Actually, now that I remember I hadn't been involved in an accident in 6 years, and 10 years have passed since the last one I was in fault (a similar parking scratch as well).

Anyway, insurance will take care of it (the financial part) and the repair will be done on the dealer's garage.
    Yeowch!

I made a backing up error in a parking garage in the winter (who designs pillars at the rear that are narrower together than the ones in the front, anyway??).. got a 2" scratch just forward of the side taillight lens. Gonna get that attended to soon.

Had my LED side ligts arrive to match the HID's, such a samll addition but they look amazing.

The Eibach springs will be fitted this week along with the tracking sorted.

Dummy fin aerial arriving in soon along with a new rear lower valance to replace the dented one I have.

Next month will be the all chrome American grill with chrome bars, which I love, (im in the UK and we have horrible grilles). Then for the 'show and go' number plate holder. Ill also be fitting the muffler with dual chrome tips.

Ill post some photos soon, might even do a build thread although mine is quite humble comared to some beauties on here.
2007 Passat 1.9 TDI SE, 18" r32 wheels, boot spoiler, rear tints, RNS300, Rear muffler & chrome tips, Eibach springs, fin aerial
Next; new rear valance, american grill, new interior...

Other rides; Custom hand built Specialized Rockhopper comp.

    Love those BBS wheels!

Here's what I did, between yesterday and today; mounted my new hu and have started on the trim piece. Coming along nicely imo. Looking for opinions, the face plate i'm making is nearly done, and I don't have a picture of it as it is now but it's close. will be posting more pics.

Cutting the plastic behind the radio (formerly 12V outlet and coin holder):

Holding it in place, after plastic was removed:

I believe this is just sitting in there:

And with the start of my trim:

Sorry, but the CC in this photo makes the Passat in the background look very 2nd-class. That CC is perfect. Love those wheels.

I wanted to pull the trigger on them but seeing them on the CC body I'm glad I didn't. They fit the CC perfectly. Beautiful!

Yup. I'm very happy with how the wheels looked once I mounted them as well as the build quality.
Here is a better look at them in daytime.

Wow, looks like quite an effort. Had mine done at the dealer - they were also very fouled. You saved about $500 US. Go pat yourself on the back, but wash your hands first ;-)

    thanks sir,

also from what ive been told (i know a couple VW techs) the dealer doesn't clean the valves like i did they just pour a chemical into them and let em soak, and no amount of soaking will remove the carbon that s baked on there.

Call your dealer and check to see how they do it.

wasn't horrible just tedious and time consuming. the million clips to undo were tough. (make sure u push the connector on good before you press the release clip it will make your life worlds easier)

Well, the stealership claimed they scrubbed 'em, and showed a before and after digital pic of valves that looked cr*p before and very clean afterwards (didn't mention anything about the intake trays...) . Now if they were pictures of *my* valves is another story....

Anyway, it did cure the rough start up, random misfires CEL and the power did come back a fair bit, so I'm choosing to believe they did something right. How long it lasts is another story. I've been running 76 gas since as its on the approved VW gasoline list. A bit more, but figure it is worth it in case the problem comes back they can't worm out of it and say I used unapproved gas.

Re-Plasti-dipped my grill after filling in licence plate holes with "Bondo: Glazing and Spot Putty"

Decided to put some red pin striping on it, GLI style.

Wanted to add more red to make it pop so I took apart the VW logo and put some pinstriping in there too, idea just came to me, never seen it done like this before. But I'm sure I've seen it subconsciously, because I never seem to have original ideas.

Added new climate control knobs from e-bay. Love the way they look.

Been dragging my feet for awhile on this one, finally broke down and ordered a full set of LED interior lights, and all for around 20 bucks. Coulden't be happier. However, I feel like if I need to turn on my dome lights during the night that everyone in the surrounding 50 miles can see straight through my 20% tinted windows though.

Ohh yeah, lets not forget I did my weekly washing/vacuuming/ArmorAll'ing. Conditioned my leather seats too.
