      according with insurance law

Insurance companies are obligated to restore your car to the same condition it was in before the accident

did you had aftermarket parts on the damaged area?

insurance companies are required by law to give policyholders the choice of their accident repair center
I brought it to the shop that does the repairs for my VW dealer, most VW dealers dont do the body/paint work in house they send it out to a body shop that they use. The body shop i went to is the only Porsche certified body shop in my area also and anyone i have talked to has spoken very highly of them. The body shop has been great the chicks Insurance company is what's junk.

as for the damage NYS law says same condition doesn't= OEM.

Car in the shop for regular suspension and brakes maintenance.
Yesterday morning I was lucky enough to drive an B6 with APR stage 4 and huge, huge Brembo brakes specially adapted.
Something unforgetable. Really really really awesome.

Got my Ross-Tech cable, changed my rear brakes and rotors, painted calipers red.

Also activated remote windows, and stiffened the steering using the Ross-Tech cable.

I like the way it turned out... but ohh boy do I need to eliminate that wheel gap and get new rims.

      Changed oil.

get that front plate off and then get ur forge spacer and ull be a up-n-coming knoob like me

the only areas i'm ahead after those is the monster floor mats, and euro knobs for the heat/ac..

next is either the APR stage 1 ECU or the Forge TwinTake. Both around the same price. I know one should come before the other though. I'm assuming the intake. So I'll get that, wrap it with some heat-wrap. Chill a little bit on mods or buy some cheaper mods for awhile since my income will be hurtin for a little and then go to APR.

Gotta balance appearance mods with the performance mods. Can't let either one get too far ahead of the other!

Received my billy boat dp after waiting for 3 weeks while car sat in garage with broken dp. Took car to eminence as I needed my magnaflow muffler welded on so I figured they could handle this task. Tech immediately says this is a big job to the manager/advisor. So they putti on lift to check it out. Manager looks and says my new dp has no cat however I have ordered carted version. I tell them this and then they discover the cat. They then say that the oem has a smaller cat that the bb doesn't. Manager says they cannot do the work because of federal law. I get them to do the muffler anyway but make my unhappiness known. I then drive 5 mins download and got another garage to install for $100 right on the spot. Car is so much better. No cel yet

Using the "44- Steering Assist" module in VCDS. Here is a screen-cap of my VCDS. Under Adaptation, change channel 001 value to between 0 and 12. I had mine at 6 for awhile, makes the steering more sporty feeling, but after taking this screen cap I changed my value to 0, gonna try that out for awhile and see if I like it. Good luck.

If you can't change your settings or its locked or some such crap its probably because of the software version. Theresias at this thread has an explanation towards the bottom of the thread as to why or why not some can be adjusted based on the version of your software.

So I assume 12 is the most stiff? I have driven a BMW that had rack and pinion style steering and it was very tight, kinda liked it ( no sexual innuendos intended )

12 is actually the default, its full on steering assist. 0 is the stiffest.

In homage to Audi sweeping Lemans P1 I finally got a chance to install the ecs LED DRLs I bought myself last December. Spare time... what's that??

The ECS aftermarket led's are a bit of pain to fit to the lower grills. Would've like 'em further outwards, but the angle of grills on the passat is a bit oblique from the front plane of the car so wouldn't have worked well optically.

Managed to VCDS the daytime lowbeam light DRLs off a few weeks back so at least the daytime lowbeam DRLs are off. I might add to add a relay and resistor so the LED DRLs are dimmed/off when the low-beams are energized at night if I get inspired.

I think I need to add the Euro turn signal clears to finish the effect at this point. Never done...

on saturday... finally put my 18" wheelset back on.... (the snow tires are officially bald)....

couldn't find my chrome lug bolts...

now gotta decide between chrome lug bolt covers or Audi's gunmetal covers (not really a fan of the black covers VW uses)

Do it! The best thing about plastidip is that if you don't like it or if you messed up, peel it off and do it again! I fall in love over and over again each time I use it hahha. I plan on doing my whole car for H2O if this guy responds to my damn emails for rims!
