I've looked all over the internet but I haven't found a definite answer for this yet

Not sure where to throw this post, but figure this is as good as any.
I see the Android app Torque gives good feedback, Boost, voltage, acceleration etc. However, I am looking at which Bluetooth OBDII device to get, they range from $35-100. I understand the most expensive one is "supported" but is there a risk with using a cheaper version? If you are simply monitoring the engine, I can't imagine it causing problems.
Just wanted to see if anyone is using this.

I just got my ELM adapter from amazon and it works well. The only problem that I have is no boost reading.
How do you know which version of Torque you have and how can I update if its an old one. I dont see any option in the settings.

New to Android. Figured out the update. Anyone have boost reading issues.

Boost can't be read with CAN. Anybody know how to get VAG readings from a bluetooth ELM327?

Awesome, I only wanted this thing for boost! I see videos of guys in Europe getting it to work with these same readers. HUH!

My bluetooth adapter was from amazon or ebay or something. was like 20$ and works pretty damn good. as far as i can tell it reads everything it needs to.
