Agreed, the design is pretty elegant, but it's use is limited and doesn't factor real world scenarios.

Yes. I have never had a problem getting stuck wheels un-stuck. There are several easy ways to do this.

Shoulders? That's why the car rolled on me. Long downhill in WV, the flattest place I could stop still had a decent grade on it. Just took a little inventiveness for wheel chocks and all was good.

Real-world? My space saver jacks have had some MILES on them, if you can call it that. I don't think you understand my bad luck with tires!

Conventional scissor jacks don't depend on having the jack able to "rock" on its "foot" on level ground. I can and have used these just about everywhere. I have one in my garage with a picture of a 2nd gen Corolla on it, no idea how it got there but it's a beast.

I checked. Not true story. Reed holds no direct stock, it's in a trust or something else, but does own a pittance (4.4%). And if you're referring to Icahn, he's not CEO of Blockbuster, just a major stockholder who tried to turn it around.
