OK... Just pick up the exhaust from a MK4 R32. Everything from after the cat all the way back. Question, will it work on my '04 MK4 Jetta GLS?

no because........?
A little bit of explanation would be very useful. I mean I only paid $40 for it anyway.

No because.........
Even though the Jetta and R32 share the same basic chassis, the Jetta body is about 12" longer.
The Jetta exhaust is designed to fit around a rear beam, the R32 exhaust is designed to fit around
a rear driveshaft, rear differential, and left rear axle shaft.
The rear muffler section sits in a recess in the R32 floor pan that does not exist (due to the spare)
in a Jetta floor pan.
The cost (fabrication, body work, etc.) of fitting an R32 exhaust to your Jetta would likely exceed the cost of installing an aftermarket exhaust designed for your car. Hope this info helps.

Why don't you just resell that R32 muffler for $150 and buy an exhaust system that FITS your car? I dont understand why you would trash your car just to fit this on. Is it because of the exhaust flapper? Or just because you got it for $40? If its for the flapper, just forget it. You wont get it to work correctly without a lot of work. And if its just for the price you got it for, just resell it for a profit and buy a Jetta system that fits your car.

Sell the R32 exhaust to someone who can use it. Buy a TT exhaust system and bring the car to any exhaust shop. Tell them you want a dual exhaust outlet.. All they'll do is weld a pipe from the tailpipe to the right side of the car to make it look like there's a real exhaust outlet there. Or you can use a dual outlet muffler and run the pipe from one outlet all the way over to the right. Here's a few pictures of what I mean.
