      Well, sort of...lol.

Is Renner still around? I just bought an '89 GTI 16V that has a very old Renner sticker on the back. I was wondering if Ivo or any of the old gang were around that may know who this car used to belong to? Pretty sure the engine is stock, though it does have a mean lope to it at idle. Not familiar enough with 16V's to know if it has cams or not, but I think not.

H&R Cup kit, rear ABD sway, 16" BBS RK's...had a single round grill I think, but now has the dual round setup (90-92).

      ...anyone?

Renner Motorsport and Ivo are still around from what I know of. The car club RPG, aka Renner Performance Group is no longer around.

I kinda had a feeling. Too bad! It brings me back to the good ol' days!

Renner, VW COLA, Hydrosport...there was some other one that met at Mile Square Park around ~2000 or so, Wolf-something?

      Ahhh, just like old times!

Then you would of loved Dub-B-Que. It was a few weeks ago and 4 groups got together and hosted a BBQ for everyone to come, enjoy and eat. It was like the old RPG BBQs. It was very cool and fun.

I don't have airbags though. Would they have still let me park my car near by?

Yes, I am pretty sure we would. At the BBQ a few weeks ago, in the middle of the day, there literally no parking anywhere, so the a few groups got together, moved about 10-15 cars closer together so we can squeeze 4-6 more cars in between the parking spots. Also, the spots that were taken were of people who never met until they got out of their car.

I am been around quite some time, so I wasn't sure if it's a crack against our new cars have airbag steering wheels or air-ride suspension. Either way, the scene these days is far better than the last few years.

Ahh the days of RPG, Europaisch, COLA, Wolftech, Julian Runs, Angeles Crest Runs and everything else we could muster up any day or night of the week.

I vividly remember the caravans to ND, Dubwar in the Desert, burnouts in my 2sl.0w and all the camraderie.

That is actually a Renner Motorsport decal (the shop) not an RPG decal (the club). The shop is still around and doing better that ever. The is in a great new locacaition on Florence just north of where they we they were before, the address is 324 W. Florence Ave in Inglewood.

RPG was fun in the beginning until people started to take it too seriously...then it sucked.

^Some came back and a lot of the good ones are gone.

Although, I still think clubs that aren't a magazine, form of sandwich, or used for acquiring baby seal pelts without mercy suck.
