Hey guys Im looking to get a REAL Vw enthusiast group together in the Treasure valley, the last few fell apart, let me know if your interested cause Im planning a gtg/drive before the cold sets in!

Not trying to be the downer but I've seen what happens with the VW scene around here. Been to a few Idah2o meets. Went to a couple of the B.O.E. gtg's but those mostly were...... Never mind, not going to go into that.

If it works out, that's totally awesome and I wouldn't mind meeting up with some fresh faces that were into the Vdubs mostly and not everything else under the sun.

I just moved down to boise...but left the vw back home in washington...only brought the subaru...still like to meet some vw people though...

Thats why I left, I want an actual VW enthusiast meet. no JDM.. A car is a car and im down for talking about them but the last few clubs became more JDM than anything.. and I felt it took away from why i was actually there

Also I'm not really down to hang out in a parking lot or at a downtown corner. I'd be more down for group cruises or meeting at someone's house to grill and chill or lend a hand on garage projects.

I feel the same way! Im all about wanting to help with projects and I don't like to sit in parking lots either

Then lets put something together. What'll it be? Anybody have a project they could use a hand on? I do. Or any ideas on a drive? I'm down to host a little grill action but, like I said, I'm in MH and I know most ppl aren't down to drive down here when there seems to be more ppl up in Boise.

You wont be the only one man, no worries I wouldn't mind the bus pilot meet up but I definitely don't want to crash their party either. Lets face it, as much as I can appreciate air cooled's Its definitely a different feel, and while some of us showing up in Mk1's Mk2's and such might carry some of the same feel, when Mike EuridahO and myself show up in mk4's and my brother and a few others show up in mk5's I don't see the crowds meshing all that well. Maybe im just being a xenophobic tard though

When i was at their meeting i said i felt weird being a water kid. and they said hey its a VW and were very welcoming and warm. i can pass the word along to a couple of their members so it wont be a party crash... (Even tho they invited us!). up to you guys.

Hey doods, I think I have figured a way to get my FMIC to fit without having my bumper so hacked to hell. But I can't exactly unhack it... where around here should I look for mk4 front ends aka junkyards. I don't want to have to paint if I can help it. I would prefer to keep the golf front to avoid buying the whole deal vs just the bumper... but wouldn't hate a jetta front if it came to that...

95% of the cars in Barger Matson aren't going to have the front ends still on them as they all get pulled off when the pull the motors/trans out of the car once they are processed...

Only Barger that I have found that doesn't pull the front ends off is the one out in Caldwell... However it'll take you a good amount of talking for them to let you walk back in the yard...

I know last time I was poking around the Barger in Garden city, most of the stuff i was looking at still had the front ends (most had some decent front damage though) If you want to walk around their yards though, you've gotta be pretty damn vague about what it is you're looking for and insist that you pretty much aren't there for any specific parts. Even so they're never the happiest about it.

I'd say its worth a shot though, thats about my only idea for mk4 body parts.

huggge thanks to bryce for helping me figure out where the exhaust leak was and ripping down the car to fix all the issues well almost all, giving me a exhaust tip too lol .. ordered a new flex pipe so next week i should have a better sounding car..

well next up is the bmw z4 doing the exhaust on it should be fun. also i have a meeting with a guy to do my titanium tubular exhaust manifold. to fit my new precision 5457 billet turbo.. i might have to donate the old turbo to ya.

Yeah, and I only found one extra bolt after all of it. >_> turns out it was for the crank accessory pulley, whoops. That might have also attributed to the noises haha

Alright guys, it sounds like everyone has been working on some cool projects/upgrades. We need to get together and show them off! I know this weekend there is an auto-x event so that rules out several people unless we do it later in the evening or something. I'm free pretty much whenever, so let's here some ideas.
