    Good luck with this idea....

There are 6 REAL VW enthusiast grouped right now but I want to grow it, I've seen some sick rides around and wanna hold a gtg so we can all meet

  5. 09-30-2010 07:24 PM #6
Go to idahomotorsports.com and you will have lots more luck. They set up euro meetings once in a while.

  6. 09-30-2010 11:59 PM #7
Ya I used to run with those guys but i don't think highly of IMS anymore.. its kinda become a joke in my opinion. with the exception of the autox events of course but the euro scene is somewhat scattered here. thats why i want a vw meet not like what turned into JDM meet at chronic tacos

  7. 10-01-2010 12:09 PM #8
I dont know many people from there but I like a couple of VW people I have met from there. I am tired of a lot of people on that site preaching about how stupid stretch/poke slammed etc. Anyways if you want to set something up I would be down for a get together. I could possible get 3-4 people to go. Not too sure how many you will find on the vortex though.

  8. 10-01-2010 01:44 PM #9
I agree, I've met some cool guys too but its just a conflict between the JDM and Euro scene. and I don't agree with a lot of what they have to say lol

Shoot me a text 562.7917 so we can put something together man

Idah20 and B.o.E. not cutting it for you anymore?

I'm down to meet nnew ppl, not stand around a parking lot with a bunch of other ppl who already know each other.

Come out to next the autox

Not trying to be the downer but I've seen what happens with the VW scene around here. Been to a few Idah2o meets. Went to a couple of the B.O.E. gtg's but those mostly were...... Never mind, not going to go into that.

If it works out, that's totally awesome and I wouldn't mind meeting up with some fresh faces that were into the Vdubs mostly and not everything else under the sun.

Been kind of wondering the same thing about the "VW Scene" around the Boise area...

I see some around but nothing like I would when I lived in Oregon...

I myself wouldn't mind meeting some new faces as well...

I really am down for this but I'm down the road at MH so I usually can't do last minute stuff. Also I'm not really down to hang out in a parking lot or at a downtown corner. I'd be more down for group cruises or meeting at someone's house to grill and chill or lend a hand on garage projects.

    Or lack of lol

Thats why I left, I want an actual VW enthusiast meet. no JDM.. A car is a car and im down for talking about them but the last few clubs became more JDM than anything.. and I felt it took away from why i was actually there

Also I'm not really down to hang out in a parking lot or at a downtown corner. I'd be more down for group cruises or meeting at someone's house to grill and chill or lend a hand on garage projects.
I feel the same way! Im all about wanting to help with projects and I don't like to sit in parking lots either

Then lets put something together. What'll it be? Anybody have a project they could use a hand on? I do. Or any ideas on a drive? I'm down to host a little grill action but, like I said, I'm in MH and I know most ppl aren't down to drive down here when there seems to be more ppl up in Boise.

Lol, how do we do this? Monthly? Rotate garages? What are all these projects and who's first?

I've got a B3 passat sitting in the garage that I want to use for a 5 lug swap on my mk3 jetta...

You'll need Mk3 Vr6 control arms... Passat arms I believe will set the front wheels to far back in the wheel well... Either way though the swap is pretty easy...

Apparently all those people missed where the jdm scene has been going for the past 4ish years...or should I say going back to. The sickest rides in their scene are slammed stretched and either hellaflush or pokin hard.

next time someone says its stupid, drop a link to the nwnissan thread from here, on that jive Hondameet picture thread.

I'm in boise every so often and I get really weird looks driving around my low and loud mkii.

So how can we work around your schedule? It sounds like we're on to a pretty good idea. Maybe we should do more than just talk about it and actually make it happen.

GL with your move. Hopefully we'll meet up when you get out here and we'll have something more representative of a true vw enthusiast's group/club by then.

So what do you say guys? How can we make this happen?
