I've had my recent paint work done at Kid Gloves on chinden. Dude has done very good work IMO and for a decent price.

That is the only place I can recommended I have seen the work and it is pretty damn good.

the vw stealership is being a massive prick up my a$$ in getting me a jetta hood parts guy keeps on asking me for a vin# which is moot since i have a damn golf

i have the part#, money and willingness to order but this parts guy would not make an order without a goddamn vin# - wtf is that

anyways, i know there's no other dealership around and was wondering if any of you guys have a Mk3 Jetta Hood to spare. I'm gonna try to get one at the junker but i have no car at the moment. i have to bribe someone to actually drive me there .

There is one at the nampa jalopy jungle that I almost bought to do a swap. I think there are a few there but only one that was worth picking up. The one one state has no hoods.

When are you wanting to go and where you at? I'm always wanting to head out there

In Mountain Home there's a shop called Tech Auto Body. Ask for Jason Leikvold to do your work. He's a minitrucker but he's super legit. It is expensive but you will get your money's worth. Besides, it's right there in town too.

Jalopy on State has a Black 99' Jetta with a good hood... Which I know is closer to you then Nampa...

Also if anyone needs any ABA parts I've got a head, intake, injector rail, coil, ps pump, ac compressor, ecu etc out of a 95 that i can bring with me on Sat. All proceeds go towards building my 82.

here's the deal broham; why is a vin important for a purchase of a jetta hood when i have a golf? which i persistently insisted on. customer service should not be an argument. i have the part# and 100% of the money, with the part's service center person's suggested mark-up of an $80 hood. why do i need to give up the social security number of my car per se if it's not needed? i have been treated as such that i cannot place an order if i don't give up a vin of a car. would you oblige to this kind of monopolistic behavior? and yes, i got in contact with a friend who had a friend who worked at the dealership and this person actually offered to order the hood for me and ship it to the boise parts center without it but i had to have $250 worth of parts to get it pushed through... either way, this acquaintance from a different dealer (in a different state) gave me 2 vin's to give to the boise dealer to shut him up and make the order for me.

point of the matter is, the vin acts as a referral for the parts guy here and he will not take any part orders without having that number to cook his books on clientele contact rate. he has this audacity because apparently, in the boise area there's only him to deal with, and without you giving this vin up, he will not give you what you need. it's a monopoly. i'm from DC and they have about 14 dealers where im from, if i don't get great customer service on one dealer -- i move on to the next. unfortunately i have no choice here.

who in the hell would try to place an order for a dainty hood; get harassed for a vin # and when you refuse to give it up, the salesperson refuses to answer your calls and will tell you that that particular item is no longer available when i see in vw's website that they have an inventory of 480+ in the main warehouse?

when i finally gave the "vin" my friend from the dealership pulled up for me, suddenly the hood is available and ready to ship, smiling face and all.

Dude, I'm with you the whole way on this one. I hate that dealership, I tried to buy an 01 A6 from them and they gave me this whole run around about having "lowest possible price stickers" and that people don't. Want to haggle. They let me walk on a 11k cash deal for their $299 dealer doc fee. They also told me it was going to be $1400 for an abs module and laborious on an 02 passat. I haven't. Darkened their door since.

On another note, if you get a hood would you be willing to part with that bra? Would look sick on my golf

Effe that dealership. I think if I wanted to buy new off the lot I'd make the drive to Twin Falls. It's been a while since I've been down there but they seemed much more customer service oriented to me.

As for saturday, I'm down for whatever.

Hey everyone. Back from deployment and excited for the get togethers this summer. Had a pretty bad accident with my 01 gti but picked up an 04 R...so I think I lucked out! However, I do have massive amounts of mk4 parts. Pm me if your looking for anything. The vr6 is intact and in good working order so if your looking for an engine I definitely have it. I just had samco coolant hoses put on before the crash and they are good to go as well. Also has b and g rs2 coilovers if anyone is looking for some serious drop.
