Which Mk3 are you planning to use them on? The beater Jetta I'm going to guess?

    Merry Christmas everybody.

My gf got me side mirror stickers that say 'Objects in mirror are losing' with a VW roundel. It's cool that she got me something for the car but I'm not a sticker guy and streetracing is really dumb... What do I do?

Put them on but very poorly so they eventually fall off. Reason being, if you don't acknowledge the thought she put into the gift, you will never ever, ever get anything car related again.

Other than that, MERRY CHRISTMAS everybody

my white MD plates suit me just fine.

glad to know there is a reputable shop there, sucks cause MD had the best; NGP, Eurotech, RAI, 42Draft, and a bunch of kids with lifts and tools

is jeff's strictly maintenance or custom as well?

i'm planning on swapping an r32 when i get a daily when i get down there.

From what I have noticed while being back in town Jeff's is mostly Maintenance... I've also heard good and bad about the shop...

Shoot me a PM and I will give you a friend of mines number who is into Dubs as well and works at a local shop, but who will also do side jobs and is a great tech...

If you can afford to back the shop till you get a good customer base there's a chance... More so if you can pull in some of the German/Euro Autocross people... But I also know that most people I've met do most of their own work...

This is a small but very solid group!

"EURidahO" Came to me in the shower the other day Not my best shower idea but i figured i'd throw it out there. Honestly i think Idah2o came and went with the best possible name

Welcome nap83! really looking forward to seeing your golf around.

As for all the local shops, Jeff's is the only place i can personally recommend, the dude is a bit of a grump and i cant see him being too happy at all about any kind of custom work you wanted done but the few times I've used him for Mk4 PITA maintenance he's come through cheaper than most places. I hear Wagenwerks does good work as well but i couldn't personally vouch for them. There are some pretty helpful/knowledgeable people floating around the area. Most will go to ridiculous lengths for some car talk and a case of beer

well one of my good friends owns hpf out here in portland so i know if i did he would certify the shop for a dealer instantly, i have connections with integrated and cts turbo ksport, john reed racing/underground racing etc so its not hard to get a fast following i hear that rent is super cheap for shops in ada county.

Yes there are many super cheap shops, I sometimes wonder why I dont have one and then I think, oh yeah what am I going to do with more cars?

I do my own work and most of the people I know do, on the older stuff, screw working on modern cars. I would love to see more performance shops in town, however I tend to mod from the junkyard and the welding table because of lack of funds.

Let's make a meet happen! Aaron, Bryce, and Brian where down at the house today and this came up so I'm being proactive here to see what we can make happen. Here's some thoughts:

    Saturday, January 15th @ 5pm (yes/no?)

Another restaurant meet? Old Chicago's downtown Boise. We could meet at the parking garage across the street at the upper level; that would make for a pretty good photo op.

Garage meet? Aaron's got a VR swap I'm sure we could lend a hand and make him some money... I've got all the parts pulled off the passat to do the 5 lug swap on my mk3 jetta and thanks to Dustin I've got the control arms I need. All I need now are the drive shafts and I think with 15 days I can make that happen; anybody's welcome to come down and we can make that happen. I'd think the drive to MH might be a deterrent to some ppl though... Jenna posted some pretty looking coilovers; we could help her install those... Any other projects out there?

Pot luck? Pic a house at a central location, people bring some food and beverages, and we hang out and talk vw's...

Nap83 just got here from the east coast; how about we show him how much cooler/nicer/more laid back we are on this half of the country and help him with whatever he needs settling into his new place?

    You're thoughts?
