I think some guys that cannot make the drive at noon are meeting at the Cabelas location for a little meet at 7pm. If the Drive crew is back or nearby they will probably swing by. D:

i dont have time to type it all basically starter failed test changed it nothing starter relay replaced and nothing i could push start it and it would run fine once i put the new relay in than my first gear just does a full power and fuel cut and all gears run fine except first now any suggestions shoot me a text or call thanks

For those of you not participating in the facebook:

Setting up a night photo shoot for those interested. As many photographers want to participate, you're welcome to bring your cameras. I will be bringing my generator and some bright work lights. If anyone has photography lighting umbrellas, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll be making something equivalent.

If there is enough interest, we may move the equipment to a second location that night after the parking lot. Second location up for discussion.

Any lighting equipment anyone can bring will be helpful. Too much is better than not enough.

Yupp meet at 7:00 at ling and luies off Eagle. There are plans for a night shoot with large work lights. So swing by and get some sweet shots of your cars. If it is snowing we will still be taking photos, cooler look eh?

Guys --

Any good VW shops around here that you guys could recommend? My car keeps on burning starters and the shop I used cannot pin point what the whole deal is.

I'm looking for a place that specializes primarily on VW's ...

i think the culprit is the ignition switch and trickling everywhere now electronically -- body shop screwed it up when i was getting my car repainted -- big mess; they didnt want to take responsibility so i had to tow it to the shop right beside my house, pretty ****ty place --- kept my car for 2 months only to replace an ignition switch and it now keeps on burning starters, car just dies while running

i have no tools or garage and really do not know anyone in the area; a helping hand or a reputable garage to go to -- appreciate the input fellas. i will check out the shops some of you recommended, thank you !!!

I just wanted to say what's up and nice looking rides! I'm living down in Houston now and built me a pretty reputable Corrado slc supercharged. It's nice to see the scene is still alive at home!

I thought you guys would appreciate this since my stomping grounds are the same as yours. And I'm not sure if you guys know them but some of my closest friends there is Micheal Corrado, Jeb Allen, and ryan weeks. Ryan has a black SLC Corrado with a roll cage! not sure but he use to live in the north end! Cheers all!!!

Been having issues getting my gti to start lately, only happens when it's humid out like today. Will crank forever but refuses to turn over. Any ideas? Thinking distro or battery could be the culprit.

Mass air flow sensor or a wet intake filter. You can test this by unplugging the mass air flow and if it starts then that's your culprit

MKIII 2.0? I would check the coil first, (very common issue). They crack and the moisture in the air makes them arc. Really easy to test too.

Yeah it is a mk3 2.slow. How would I test this?

check to see if you are getting spark and have power at the plug of the coil. if no spark and power at the plug then more than likely its a bad coil.

To check for arcing:

Get a water bottle

Start the car
Spray/mist water around the coil

Watch for arcing

Or you can just pull it (only held in by two bolts) and visibly check for cracks.

I have seen guys repair them (dry them out and then appoxy the cracks) but they aren't that expensive ($50 for HUCO brand)
