There's nothing worse than watching hours of all your hard earned work literally vaporize in an instant right in front of you. I never get mad at video games, but watching all my diamonds and minerals vaporize gets me pretty upset.
I had a good idea. Say the dragon is added. It would be sweet to only have like 2 or 3 per map. They would only come around every now and then, and when they did you'd have to take cover for the time they are around, or suffer the consequences lol. Also, being that there are 3 per map, you can find their nests and destroy them. If the dragom is present at the nest, you have an opportunity to kill it, and the only way to kill it is by destroying it at its nest. If the nest is destroyed with no dragon present, it will eventually either die off or make a new nest.
Sorry, i got into that with my girlfriends brother who also plays minecraft. I thought it was a pretty good idea haha. Opinions?

I had a discussion with a buddy of mine on the possible merits of Minecraft as a bit of an MMO (like you mentioned) having objectives (mines, fortresses etc.) with possible dragons etc. Protecting huge troves of treasure etc.
I hope dragons are cool, and not aggravating as f_ck (I'm looking at your creepers).
I'm not huge into Fantasy, MMO stuff. I like the adventure of mining and finding stuff then building stuff with it. But all this new crap: baby animals, potions, dragons, etc. is starting to go a bit overboard into fantasy land, IMO.
It's Minecraft how about we get some new stuff..to you know...mine?
I personally despise creepers, and I find all of the creatures to be annoying...not scary, just aggravating as f_ck. My favorite type servers are always the free-roam ones, where you don't get anything for free...but monsters are turned off.
If anyone has large stashes of wood, and/or rail...I'm continuing the VPS (Vortex Public Skyway) and would like to eventually change it over to carted rail system. I may set up a couple of chests at one of the hubs, and if people have wood/sticks/rails you can donate some. It's a super time consuming project because chopping down trees for wood gets really repetitive.
Made some good headway tonight on it though.
attempoting to make a mob-proof stonghold that will also hopfully deter less knowledgeable users...seriously...someone let a creeper take out half my house to include a storage container in it..thank god it didnt have anything too valuable in it..was just a big set back.
