VW, Audi,SEAT and Skoda all use the same 1J0 412 331 C top strut mounts on all their "Mk IV" chassis cars.

The only other strut mount listed is one fitted on a 2002-2006 SEAT Cupra Leon R: 1ML 412 331

      Large Pic here

I ordered a pair to see what the difference was to the "stock" mount.

Dimensionally, they are absolutely identical, however, they felt appreciably harder straight out of the box.

I had both the stock ones and these tested with a Durometer and these are the results:

      1J0 412 331 C (Stock VW) = Durometer 50 - 55 (hard to get an accurate reading because its so soft )

      1ML 412 331 Leon Cupra R = Durometer 80

If anyone wants to get these mounts, they are only available through the SEAT parts network - VW/Audi/Skoda don't carry them at all.

... and here is some icing on the Cupra R suspension bush cake.

Lower cast control arm front pivot bush is also an upgraded item:

      Part number is 1ML 407 182

This would only fit in the R32 style cast lower control arm which has a larger diameter bush than the old pressed steel versions.

      On order as we speak!

Update on front A-Arm bush: Physically identical looking but the rubber used in the Cupra R bush is definitely harder around the centre metal piece using a fingernail test - could not get a Durometer reading because of the design of the bush will not allow the Durometer to get a proper reading

The rear A-arm bush is the same as ours with the solid rubber centre.

I missed this earlier (middle of the night here). So is it possible to order these in USA ? I don't know how to obtain SEAT parts.

so you tested the SEAT ones brand new and the stock ones used or new too? just in case the durometer degraded over time maybe

      also whats list price?

034 has been selling this 85 durometer ones for a while now and they felt pretty much like the VWMS that used to be the best of the best. but that is just me remembering how they felt no test.

      http://www.034motorsport.com/chassis...i-p-18580.html

      $38/mount (need 2) + $9/bearing (need 2) + shipping =$94+shipping sor the set of 034 ones

if this are cheaper it will be an instant hit great find

I tested a brand new stock mount against these brand new SEAT versions.

I had to get these from the UK via a local VW mechanic with personal contacts over there.

They cost maybe £40 UK each + shipping.

      Nice find Graeme!

I am checking with my local supplier to see if he can get them.

      edit:

Well turns out my favorite local VW place has been importing them for years. They are out of stock at the moment but will probably be getting more in the near future.

Sooo...what's your favorite local VW place, Steve? Hope they get these back in stock, and can ship to NY. My 034 mounts are SHOT! They held up for about a year, but I'm not so sure if the mechanic over-torqued them when installing.

I just ordered the 034s and now this thread.

I see a mixed bag of reviews on the 034s. Maybe people
that are slammed are having issues? Maybe install problems?

I just hope my 034s are quiet and last longer then OEMs.
I run FSDs/Eibachs on east coast roads which are more forgiving then coils.

      More good info..

I did some searching in the UK forums and one person stated that they are the same part #. Other threads didn't. At this point, it does not matter to me. I never want to replace these again. Well, at least not soon.

They are SEAT brand only parts, so VW (or Audi even) dealer can't order them at all.

so with the SEAT front LCA bushes - is this accomplishing the same thing as the Defcon kits? larger metal surround, smaller bush?

I am led to believe our "bush" has a similar metal insert. (that should really crack up Hairpower )

So, presumably the rubber is stiffer on the SEAT (more jocularity )

The DEFCON bush is reducing the overall size like you say, but this is still the standard size overall.
