    Thread: tdi straight pipe

    1. 10-02-2010 12:59 PM #1
      hey all
im going to get a golf tdi pretty soon and i want to straight pipe it with a downpipe. one of the major things i want to happen is to get the black smoke to blow out. it's what diesels are all about to me. ive been looking online and from what ive seen, tdi's shouldnt blow smoke unless there's a problem. So, if i get my tdi, will it smoke without problems? im itchin for the soot!

straight piping a stock engine will yield little performance gains. Normally you'd look to exhaust after significantly tuning such as chip, injectors, turbo.
