And a 4' Suck UK Slide lamp. Might buy one more once I see how it fits.

A vintage illuminated payphone sign. Gonna sand it, repaint and hang it as a wall sconce.

New mainboard for my TV.. apparently even with a voltage regulating surge protector its still susceptible to surges and is quite common to fry the HDMI ports. Burned out during a lightening storm a few weeks ago. All the Analog ports still worked but oddly my HTPC won't set to a 1080p like resolution over VGA..

Now to find a better surge protector. Seriously the HTPC didn't even skip a beat it just kept playing but the damn HDMI ports fry.. that's some BS.

    Sweet Odins raven that's cool.

The only good deal I ever got was a rusty ass cabrio for $500, but came with a free shell that I sold for metal for $250... Not as cool but ran great and daily'd it for a couple years.

What is the story? Any rust issues?

Highly recommend. I use that same type for all my nice electronics, and we also use the UPS version for our servers at work

Me too. I prefer Patriot Pat over the Flying Elvis. I like it when they use the throwback Red and White unis. I actually ordered a throwback Brady Red and White jersey this past week.

I've got an arguably similar quality monster version, for power protectors they are legit its not 100 buck hdmi cable wizardy ... and not just a walmart powerstrip. But the monster unit is getting on in years and power conditioners/ surge protectors do lose effectiveness over time.

The weird part is during the surges the week before the TV stayed on, the cable box, receiver and HTPC all stayed on as well the screen just dipped out and came back, lights didn't even flicker in the house just the picture. I was out of town when it finally died but the GF said it was exact same thing everything else just stayed on a close strike just killed the picture for a second one or two times then finally out. It seriously could have been radiation that passed through the hdmi cable sine what I read is no protector has protected these TVs from this particular failure.

I will actually probably be going to a much larger UPS on my server and other network gear after I relocate and just move my current APS unit to TV/HTPC duties. Was the plan all along I just never forked over the coin for a bigger network one.. not convinced it would have saved it.

They can repair the cards I just didn't want down time, if its 50 bucks or so to repair it I'm going to get it fixed and either keep it as a backup or sell it.

No rust, no rot, needed a timing belt but the one on it hadn't failed yet, so nothing catastrophic there either. Oh, its a diesel. It even came with a spare 1.6 to replace the current 1.5 in it with, and spare injection pump, etc. An older gentleman owned it, his wife drove it, and when she passed the car sat since the late 80's. He had the fore sight to start it weekly and drive it on occasion so there isn't really anything wrong with it at all. Its going to replace the Firebird in the background as my daily soon.

A friend of mine knows a guy who hates a guy who needed help moving, so I went to help at friend #1's request and it was parked in the yard next to the house we were carrying the furniture out of. Dumb luck, but I'm not complaining. Theres not a single vehicle in the one picture I paid more than 1k for.

That is a very sweet love story. I am wishing you many years of mk1 diesel happiness. Mines the best car I've ever owned!

Lesson learned: always help your friends, you never know who will have a mk1 in their yard.

Good choice. It was not finished last time I was there so I stayed in the casino one down the street.

I wasn't really trying to stay the weekend there, mainly because the "cheap room" is $229 a night before taxes. I asked this chick if she would be interested in going down there and gambling a little, grabbing dinner, and going for a train ride. She took that as "soo are we gonna do a friday/saturday thing or saturday/sunday thing.... Since i haven't banged her yet i figured she was ready now
