WELCOME TO MY THREAD

EDIT:

I'm coming from a 2000 mazda protege then to a 2008 Nissan altima coupe. I was in a serious accident with the coupe, in which I could have died in but walked away from. That moved me to jump into my vw in the beginning of june 2010. I was looking for room, comfort, affordability and style. I found my car pretty much brand spankin new and a good deal. I stalked the forums for a while so i knew from day one id be doing some changes... here goes my progress build.

updated, color matched markers, test fitted the reiger wing. im sittin on these stock mugellos (however you spell it) but i have these shined up the rs4's to put on soon. right now the rears are spaced 10mm but i didnt get to take new pix. more coming soon!

Did you get an OEM set chromed or are those reps? I'm assuming reps since a set is so cheap. I don't dig chrome, but those are ok

yea reps, got a nice deal on em with tires, flipped a pair of wheels i had on sale used the money from that, liked um and they fit perfect. i wasnt seein oem ones in the size that i wanted, i cant wait for the weather to break so i can keep um on. thanks for the luv

cars is looking good. I'm taking the tint plunge my self. 35% all around classy. 914 I remember when i was 914 area code. then it changed now im 845. god i feel old.

quick update. i ordered a magnaflow catback with 2.5" piping along with a vibrant quiet flow resonator so i can get a nice tone. nothing too loud and obnoxious, my goal is sound but to keep the drone down. i still have to find some tips that sit nice on the muffler and in the valence because im not liking the ones that come on it. i mounted the wheels for the summer and even tho im poking like a fat persons belly, miraculously i get no rub! even with people in the car. it works! i have a set of fogs on the way and euro fog covers that i have to modify and get painted to fit my bumper along with a reiger rear window spoiler that i have to get painted and im debating on mounting aswell.

i plan on getting some rear camber when i go to get the exhaust put in, just for looks and to tuck the back alittle.

Looks good. nice and classy with those shined up RS4 wheels. You took pretty much the exact same steps i did with my car (i had those wheels as well).

im doing what i can on a budget. I like the rs4s... They fit to my liking and give my car that aggressive look i wanted with that wide n low stance. Theyre just kind of heavy but it makes me drive more cautious you know

Just checked, im due for NYS inspection this month. Ill be getting that done before i get the exhaust put on just to be safe! On a lighter note i recieved these in the mail today:

The guys at the shop remembered me from my hoop'd days and were going to bump me ahead of all the other cars. I didnt wanna be rude so i schedualed an appointment for saturday. Cant wait!

you lowered it with springs, or coilovers? How much change in ride characteristics?

Im on neuspeeds although most will recommend coilovers for adjustable hieght. I just wanted subtle drop just to get rid of the wheel gap. Having lowered it i have to drive a little more cautiously, certain speed bumps and driveway entrances are bigger than most. I havent noticed a change in any bouncyness but it handles courners a little better. With the wheels i can still get 4 people in with no prob but since im poking alittle i have to take it eaven more easy
