I wasn't going to make a build thread of any sort but i got bored and have been wanting to document it's progress. Also hoping this keeps me motivated to finish. This is my first car and bought it because of a "blown Trans" for 300 bucks. It need new linkage bushings

This is how it came except it had small bumpers, purple tint and covered in moss and sap.

I cleaned up the bay a little bit with a polished 50mm and added quad light setup

Throughout the time i had done autotech cams, tt header, 50mm manifold, TT 2 1/4 ss exhaust w/borla, 5 lug swap w/ 11.3 DE brakes, Koni fully adjustable coils, poly bushings, and fuel enrichment module

and this is how it was looking

I liked the power the motor had but wasn't fully satisfied. I pondered a couple ideas and even went to get a loan for a full r32 setup but it sold before i could get the funds. I had the money for a 1.8t and the seller didn't get back to me so i finally made up my mind and started buying parts.....16vt to the hilt.

ABA obd1 block bored to 83.5. Wossner 8:1 forged pistons, Integrated Rods, and stock polished crank.

    Turbo- Turbonetics super 60

I got these wheels and had the centers powder coated High gloss black chrome

    Had these done by RMAMotorsport

Front mount mounted to core support

Had pictures of the other stuff somewhere but seemed to have lost them.

The head was p&p but later found a crack. I got high rev valve springs, supertech valves, lightweight lifters, tt cams, and arp head studs.
For management i got sds emf-4 (Fuel and spark) I pretty much have everything bought just need to build.

awesome build, but why did you take off the small bumpers to replace them with unpainted poorly fitting big bumpers that need flares to even look decent?

honestly........ no clue. They were in the car when I bought it and liked the big bumper look and was going to go that route but later wised up

Probably one of the happiest days of my life. I waited 4 years for this car. Seen it at work and the guy said no to me buying it. Next thing you know he he's having a kid and needs money.

I'm not really into waiting for power but a 50 trim has crossed my mind. I know what you're saying about the wheels. I will probably be stepping down to 11" brakes to fit the wheels. The bolts are hitting the carrier and caliper.

Just some little stuff here and there...

Pressure checked, decked, and ready for porting.

    Lightweight Lifters

    Supertech valves and TT cams.

TT high flow tapered valve guides

oh and just a little something else on the side at Day and night Rebuild.

Hangin on its own with the mk4 mounts.

    very small update:

Couldn't use my ARE wheels as they were just to small to make the 11.3" brakes work so....I got some 16x8-9 bbs rs'. I know...how original but for the price it would have been dumb NOT to buy them. Should be purchasing a peloquin diff tonight or as soon as tom from ngp gets back to me. After that expect some big changes.

If you see in the first picture I also mocked up my lengthened and shaved side skirts as well.

    Car in its sad state....
