You cannot lose with trucks these days. They're all varying levels of NICE & WIN. Even the Toyota with that rear bed that bounces around in that Ford YouTube.

I like the CrewCab, but the bed is too short and the Ext Cab's rear seats are plenty for my kids... and me.

The styling of this Gen Silverado reminds me of the clean and simple (not bold like Ram or trucky like Ford) form and lines of the Silverado 2 gens ago, which I also like.

I want some big ridiculous pickup, it looks like so much fun.

      Nice buy.

I agree, not many compromises when buying a new-full size truck. And I have no problem sitting in the rear seat either

Thanks, we are enjoying it so far. I love the V8 sound which has been missed since selling my GTO.

Nothing right now...but my Aprilia could easily fit in the bed and will come in handy this week when I buy a new compressor

The best color on a great truck. When my buddy bought his '10 it was the Texas package with huge chrome emblems and those same chrome "clad" 20's. He debadged it and traded another guy for the other style 20 inch wheel. It went a long way in the way it looks, and the overall design of the truck really grew on me.

      These wheels.

I have always thought they looked fantastic, much more subtle than the chrome and one of my favorite factory wheels of any manufacturer. It's a little irrational on my part, only because I know the chrome clad wheel is a plastic cover. I don't think of them in the same way as a regular aluminum wheel now.

Did you get a chance to drive a 6.0 liter? The 5.3s are bulletproof and will give you many miles of hassle free power if you maintain it, my personal DD has a 5.3 and I love it, but those 6.0s really move when you push the go pedal!

Keep it nice, but use the hell out of it.

Congrats! Very nice truck. I put 1400 miles on a 09 Silverado in a long weekend to pick up a trailer; it proved to be a very nice traveling companion.

If I wind up with a bigger Airstream, I could easily see an Avalanche in the driveway someday. (Although, an Ecoboost Expedition, should one ever come into being, would be tempting...)

Awesome looking trucks. The blue you have or the metallic brown are my favorite colors on these trucks. I was looking for the brown in the same configuration you have when i shopped for my truck, but they were hard to find.

      Nice purchase!

I was really impressed with the 5.3/4x4/15mpg/21mpg Suburban rental I had recently. The GMT900s are nice driving trucks, and until the 3.7 TiVCT V6 F-150s hit the streets, 15/21 is the best full size truck fuel economy out there. It's pretty impressive that those numbers are possible out of a 2.5tn V8 truck, especially compared to how much gas the 6.0 and even the 4.7l V8s guzzle.

GM really did a good job with engineering this generation of truck, mind you the F-150 and Ram are nice too.

Being a Chevy man for a long time it's surprising to admit I would own a Ford hands down. Over the past year with hours of seat time in both trucks the F-150 is on another level right now, and this is before the new engines coming out.

Thanks! I prefer those wheels as well. Maybe I'll be able to find a set of take-offs.

I've only ridden in a truck with a 6.0L and that was a 2500 - felt really good but the 5.3 is more than sufficient for our needs.

Thanks! Another color I really like is the new Blue Granite Metallic...

I agree - I am still amazed that it is possible to get over 20 MPG in a full-size truck or SUV with little to no compromise in power.

As I have said before, the F-150s are great trucks. My parents have had about 8 of them in the past 15 years. You cannot go wrong with any of the Big Three full-size trucks.

Haven't gotten 21 MPG yet but the truck is still breaking in - have less than 300 miles.

Nice, truck...its hard to go wrong with them. My 08 Silverado has just under 140k on it and has only needed gas, oil and tires. The vortec engines are about as old and proven as you can get this day in age.

This is an extreme situation that most owners including myself would never replicate. However, the Ford really didn't look much superior to the Chevy but both really blew away the Tundra!

      Thanks!

I hope we get the same with ours but will take a lot more than a couple years to get near that mileage!
