EEK! Just thought about it, that tape has been on there for a long time. How long has it been since the bay was painted. I hope the paint was fully cured before you put the tape on there.

Dario, I want to say I waited a lil over a week before I laid the tape down, not entirely sure. Should that be an issue? Damn I hope not.

Well today we put on the non-AC belt, power steering is mostly plumbed up. Need a longer hose to route the reservoir though. We got the braided fuel lines cut and on now as well. Love how they look!

We also installed the exhaust manis & dp to the cat with new hardware. Spark plugs, old intake mani & the throttle body.

I also found a huge crack on my coil pack.

Anyone have an obd2 coilpack in pristine condition?

I doubt ill be bring it to any shows this year. My license is still revoked and the car is not tagged. Sucks but it will give me more time to get the car the way i want it. Im really picky and i want it atleast mostly the way i want it before bringing it out anyway.

Clear coat take between 30-90 days to fully cure depending on manufacture. There's a chance you could peel off the clear/paint when you remove the blue tape.

This might be a shot in the dark PK but maybe using moderate heat from a heat gun to help release the adhesive. I would definitely wait for Dario to chime in though as I am just thinking out loud here

Modern 2k clears are buffable after 24 hrs of air dry. 8hrs after forced heat dry.
Painters tape after a week isn't going to hurt a thing.

Unless they used cheap Enamel/Acrylic single stage paint, you have no worry. If they used a catalyzed clear, cure times are of no worry with them either. Catalyzed clears don't "cure" like people like to use the term, they don't flash off solvent, they chemically "cure".

If they used single stage though, you have even bigger worries. But I HIGHLY doubt they did.

Car's coming along awesome man. Can't wait to see this thing done.

Hmmm...the shop themselves use quality stuff and only seem to work on high end cars. there's almost always a porsche or two, random ferraris, etc. although, that's not to say they didn't use the cheapest possible when my econobox rolled in and back in a matter of 3 days.

So, if they used the crappy clear, am I going to be looking out for a pink faded bay in a year?

I know the guys at the shop, so I'll ask my buddy if he can find out what was used/is used.

And thanks Rich, I'm getting there!

Finally coming to check out your work, looks great! You order the wire sheathing yet?

Those exhaust manifolds will look good for a day Ask how I know.. if you really want it to keep looking good get it ceramic coated properly.

    Thanks man
    nah not yet.
your info was helpful and will use as reference, but I really need to know how much in terms of length do I order of the 1" and 1/4"?
I'll order a lil extra in case, but I don't wanna order a 100ft spool if I don't even need 25ft ya know?

Yeah about that. I was going to get them ceramic coated and the shop held my manifolds for maybe a month plus. He couldn't justify buying materials for my manifolds, work was slow and they didn't want to spend the coin for just my 2 measly manis.

So down the line I'll get something doper to replace them.

Still looking for a coil pack guys.

Also, what are the options for people who are deleting the coolant bubble?
I'm running a stealth bottle that will be mounted at the highest point in the motor.
but I will need new hoses.

our stock hoses are 1.25 in diameter.

Will this type of hose from Summit suffice?

To get a visual of what I'm trying to achieve, see here:

what i already did was take the 2 hoses I need to change out, to autozone, to try and find similar ones that are longer and one route, instead of split like the one that originally split to the coolant bubble.

    bump bump

Those flex hoses are hard to work with. They are stiffer than you may think. Autozone has some. I had the guy bring me in the back to see them. Heavy and stiff, but will never pinch. I would just find some length of hose and cut a new one, rather than try with those flex hoses. Or if you have any hose that you cut out, re-purpose.

Autozone had a bunch, but none of the same diameter. only wider.

Both the hoses I want to deal with are about 18" including the bends, and 1" in diameter on both "ends".

I started looking a lil more and Summit actually has molded hoses too.
Going to edit this post if they have longer, similar bend hoses in the same diameter.

I'm really curious about the hose solution as well. I want to delete that T coolant hose that goes to the TB so it's just a straight hose like that photo above.
