when ever relocating the battery to the rear, you should always run a ground cable from the back to front. grounding through the body works but is not the best way. the amp draw from the starter has a hard time passing through the sheet metal and spot welds. also make sure your engine to chassis grounds are clean metal and the ground on the seat belt should be to bare metal on the chassis, the threads for the bolt could be painted from the factory, this will cause a bad ground. good luck hope you can figure this out

    The verdict is....unknown.

I decided not to take the car down (for obvious reasons)

Still had a blast at h20 and I'm remotivated to get things cracking.

I'm going to start at grounds, redo them, ground in better locations, add a ground wire like Bryan's setup, etc.

Sorry to all who were lookin for it and to those I spoke to, appreciate your understanding and advice, tips, etc.

I really think it's just a bad ground/something to do with your relocation as others said

I could be wrong but for some reason, that sounds like the crank position sensor...I'm sure you didn't touch it during the clutch job, but I've had similar issues when my CPS got wet during a snow storm.

Nice meeting you too, Evan and hell yeah!
Word Ian, where is the CPS located?
also, guys, does it matter that my clutch switch isn't plugged in?
I don't think that will play into any of this.

Is it not plugged in, or is it bypassed? If I remember, it wont even spin the starter if its not by passed or plugged in.

You're asking about the clutch switch right?
    It's not plugged in.

But then how was I able to start and literally DRIVE the car without it?

Right on the front of the block, and held in with one 5mm allen screw. It connects to a white plug iirc

Hate to hear it, but better to be safe than sorry.

or worse off, on either the ride there or back.

I've come to terms with it all and I'm going to start with the basics and try to isolate the issue.

So I decided to move the battery up front to stock location just to test what the hell is happening.
This would take the distribution block and my "new" ground location in the trunk out of the equation.
Well, as soon as you go to start the key, it clicks and car doesn't crank, spin or anything.

With the battery being back up front and the distribution block out of the picture, what the hell can be causing a short?!

We decided to put the battery back in the trunk and even still, when you try to crank the car it just clicks once and you lose everything. If you take the terminal off the battery and reapply, sure, it's all back - gauge, lights, etc. But the car will not start, crank, spin or anything.

The stock wiring harness was untouched in terms of extending, etc.
I simply rewrapped it in grip tape and that's about it.
I tested the battery and its consistent at 12.5
We tested the connections from end point to end point and it stays at 12.5

    some other info:
ECU was replaced and is running the older C2 chip
02 harnesses were extended (8 wires)
starter is brand new and was bench tested before installing
Battery is a brand new optima red top

The confusion is why did the starter at least spin before (1 week ago) and now, we don't get anything?
I'm betting on a short, but I don't know where the **** to start.

undo the grounds on the driver frame rail by the powersteering. unwrap the tape and make sure the wires didnt come loose from the butt connectors, maybe they came loose and you lost those grounds
