I was trying to figure out when it was addressed as well....

Vera Farmiga looks a lot like Maggie Gylenhal, based on the quick Google image search I just did. Nolan is certainly giving Bruce Wayne a "type".
Can someone explain this part to me? I don't recall Batgirl being addressed.
...Essen might be shown to be the real mother of Batgirl. Odd, as we thought Nolan already addressed the Batgirl story, in Batman Begins, perhaps not.
Stupid conjecture about the storyline. Making Batman go after a mere serial killer would be lame. Nolan's stories are more epic than that.

Theron as some kind of love interest sounds good. I'll shank a bitch if Catwoman turns up in this, but I have faith in Nolan.

The Batman films Nolan has done have been on the ultra realistic side until now. I can't imagine him taking a character like Clayface and making him believable to an audience. If he could pull it off I would be astounded.

I'm sorry but the title sucks balls. Someone was sweating bricks when they come up with that title. No creativity. As for the movie itself, a verdict can not be made yet.
#42
Yeah, I absolutely loathe the title. It's horrible. Was hoping they'd do a stand alone title like some of the major Batman story arcs ("The Long Halloween," "A Lonely Place of Dying," etc) or heck, even "The Dark Knight Returns."
Definitely excited for the movie. No way it'll live up to TDK, though. I don't think.

I don't really mind the title. I think Rise Of The Dark Knight sounds better, but I'm just not used to the other one.![]()

Would it be wrong for Nolan to make up his own villain? Just sayin', since we don't want anything supernatural or mutated to show up, like Pumpkinhead.
#48
I don't really know the Batman/DC universe all that well. In Nolan's movies so far, the villains have been motivated by psychology. Their physical forms were a result of their psychosis or used as a means for furthering their psychotic agenda. This seems to be an important difference, because with other characters, it's the other way around; their psychosis is a result of their physical form. Guys like Killer Croc, The Penguin, and Man Bat - their looks defined their behavior. Nolan seems to stay away from that.
So with that said, what other villains exist in Batman's world who are driven psychology first? The Riddler? Cat Woman?
Poison Ivy might be an interesting choice. An eco-terrorist so psychotic that even folks like ELF are afraid of her?

Dr. Harleen Quinzel was the Joker's psychiatrist , until she fell in love with him and subsequently reinvented herself as his madcap sidekick, Harley Quinn
Could we see her avenge him? I wouldn't mind![]()

Don't like the title.
He's had good acting thus far (though I'm not a big fan of Katie Holmes).
Theron is a solid actress. Maybe he's avoiding Vicki Vale due the cheese of the other Batman movies?

I have been having wet dreams about this since watching TDK in IMAX opening night. TDKR will be the most beautiful feature film ever if this comes to fruition.
More news about two lead female roles to be cast and the potential actresses:

Rachel Weisz, please. Natalie Portman is great, but perhaps a bit too young. Namoi Watts is the only other actress of the six that I could see in the next movie.

I hope Blake Lively is not in this.
On the other hand Weisz and Portman![]()

The title isn't great, but it's still good enough. I'll give Nolan the benefit of the doubt.

A few things. Aaron Eckhart says he is not in the film and Nolan turns in the script today.

I had to re-read Nolan's quotes on Hathaway and Hardy to see if they were cut-and-pastes of the same comments subsituting the actors names.

Never been a big fan of that character, regardless of who's playing her. This one's all on Nolan. Hope he pulls it off.

I'm curious to see what he does with the Catwoman character. I haven't read the comics at all, but if I'm not mistaken, Catwoman doesn't exactly fit into either a "good guy" or "bad guy" role. Should be interesting, to say the least. I trust Nolan, though. The man knows his stuff.![]()

Interesting note, it says she will play Selina Kyle, but not that she will play Catwoman. I'm sure she will, but just saying.

Yeah she just kinda hangs out...aimlessly with no real agenda, but yet she'll get you caught up in such ways
you'll wish you never met her. Never cared for this charator but we'll have to see.
