    Nice F-15 shots.
When you comin' down to Salem for a visit?
Not much worth taking photos of perhaps, but there's free coffee.

Sighting, but no photo, sorry, we were under "no electronic devices" curfew. Flying out of DTW Friday morning, pilot avoiding some taxiway construction, and we roll past an Antonov 124. Pilot even mentioned it. Geez, that thing is huge in person. (Yeah, that's what she said..."). Hard to imagine a 225.

I had to look this up. Most of the pictures I saw were jet engines (apologize in advance if this term isn't technically correct) and a souple with props...how the hell do props put something that big in the air? I always assumed jets produced way more power/thrust than props?

The AN-124 and the AN-225 are both turbine powered aircrafts. No props. Also props can produce a lot of thrust.

I've always liked those mega-blade props.

Definitely no props on this one. I googled around a bit and found other references to folks seeing it at various times out at DTW moving some heavy equipment of some sort. There's a lot of industry around here, so it makes sense.

You just dont see this everyday!! Caught this about 25min ago, near my house

F-15's Training @ Sunset by AROregon, on Flickr

Those contrails are from two F-15's from the local Portland Air National Guard base

I was out just tryin to get some good sunset shots, when I saw the contrails moving pretty quick and weaving around. Then I remembered the flight had just gone up a lil before I headed out..

    Super stoked I got them!!

It has counter rotating turboprops. No such thing as a turbofan-prop. Propfan perhaps?

I wonder what the fuel consumption rate is on full burn as compared to normal

not sure, but he was only up for about 30minutes compared to the rest at an hour

It's a lot more. On the F-18, max burner at low altitude gives a fuel flow of almost 50,000 lbs per hour. With those big ass motors, I'm sure the F-15 burns even more.

In Hillsboro, OR for the week. The "Memphis Belle". Not the original, but the same one that flew in the movie.

Tillamook Air Museum's P-38 stopped into Hillsboro this morning due to heavy fog in Tillamook. She just returned from the 7 ship gathering of Lightnings in Cali

She did one of the lowest flyby's after takeoff, such a great day!

    Swoopin in for the kill!

Best flyby I've seen in a long time!
