In reference to 94VW's build at the top. The PAG Parts Manifold is going to eventually run out of flow. A tubular manifold is just what he needs.

    Totally!

maybe, or maybe not, I know that the comparisons that have been made from a cast part to a tubular part show improvement throughout the rev band, but they seemed like the gasket match and port match in the tubular piece made a nice difference in the tubular parts.

he has a cast port and gasket matched which depending on how well it was done might have the same cross sectional area as any other part and once you reach the max flow there, most likely the turbo exhaust inlet, there is not much more capability of flowing more.

the actual benefits of the tubular one is the exhaust pulse tuning going in to the turbo (most benefit in twin scroll designs), were the equal length of the pipes keep everything flowing smoothly instead of a collector type chamber seen in the cast parts.

maybe it can be the difference from an 11.08 to a 10.999 maybe more, I dont know. but then at that point there are other things that could make a big difference too, lets say a 4" downpipe, meth injection, wheels and tires, a custom tune, air density and temperature ....... another driver perhaps ...... (not questioning your abilities just pointing out things that could make a difference).

Eh, I was never a fan of VF even with the s/c. Seems like to me they're a bunch of businessmen who decided to throw a mechanics suit on, produce a half-ass product and put it out on the market, spiff it like crazy, only for eager consumers to be quickly disappointed since their car is getting walked on by chipped 1.8t's.

Save the discussion since this thread isnt about revealing how VF sucks, I'll make a thread sometime soon. kthxbye

I'm still waiting on my build pics to make a thread... but in the meanwhile..

Despite all the doubts about VF I have nothing to complain about. I've had the kit a little over a year and no problems. Every time I drive my R I have a big smile on my face.

ft360 kit with ft400 tune, intercooled, cvp manifold, coated rod bearings, arp fastners-- 15psi runs great over 10k miles on it so far. TOD 2010 was its first big journey and it performed great for being apart for 4 years.
