    Hey guys!

I am currently a student at a community college, looking to get in to graphic design/ visual communications.

I would just like to hear some input from any of you whom have attended any of the schools, and maybe some guidance.

    Thanks alot!

NIU. You'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't at least consider Northern's VisComm program.

Sorry for the delay. But yes, I graduated from the program. They were only just starting to touch on web and motion graphics, but they are extremely strong in design fundamentals, theory and conceptualization. Its fairly competitive with a portfolio review to get in to the program. Again, obviously biased, but I chose them after doing my research. At least check them out

i go to the art institute in portland and i really like it, i went to community college before this and i'm a lot happier doing program specific work. it's very much design oriented and i feel like at state schools it's much more business oriented.

    yes i thread stalked you.

have you visit the campus? it helps if you didn't yet to get a look on what they do.

usually the IL institute of Art are smaller class sizes in terms of the general courses (if you are missing any) than the larger schools. I went to IL institute of Art - Schaumburg, and that wasn't bad got me on the right track and kept with me a year after to see if I am on goal with work or what not.

but a school isn't good with out great teachers... so just ask questions to see if they got the answers you like...

    good luck man...

I am a graphic design graduate from Illinois State University. I would recommend their program too. John Walker, Peter Bushell are amazing instructors.
