Does anyone here have English Bulldogs???

So i heard there is a surgery you can get for a bulldog to help them with there breathing in the long run. I heard you can get it done when you have your bulldog fixed.


Anyone ever done this?

We haven't done it, but many bully friends have. They shorten their elongated palettes and sometimes widen their nostrils. From what I know it is a simple procedure and most bullies don't have any side effects. Good Luck

LoL............thanks, yeah he is a character. I put him in different outfits and he just goes along with it. He kind of gets upset when I put the XBOX mic on him though.....lol

I have one! His name is Tonks, and he's a bit over three months! The Brindled French bulldog is our other one, and Tonks' big sister, Guinness.





They're almost the same size... for now... I got him two weeks ago and he's growing like a weed!

Thanks! He's such a great dog... Both of them are. I love Guinness for her great Brindle coloring, and Tonks is my little ginger-boy. He's got such an awesome red tone to him.

Having two bulldogs is the best ever.

It's not my thread, but I'm okay with all bully breeds. I mean, I have an English AND a Frenchie.

Your bulldog has a great coat! Such a wonderful brindle/piebald thing going on. Super cool.

How is the upkeep on these dogs? How often do you clean it's wrinkles and how bad are their health issues?

You need to clean their wrinkles, tail pocket, and eyes daily. If you've never heard of a tail pocket, you need to look it up. I've had english bulldogs all my life and only my current one has one. It can get pretty nasty if not kept clean.
I've read and always heard about hip and breathing problems but none of mine have had those issues. I try to keep mine from jumping around hoping that they won't have hip/shoulder issues later in life.

Some of them can also have congenial defects, too. Mine, Tonks, for instance has something called Cherry Eye. We're going to take care of it when we get him neutered at the end of September. Keep in mind what the poster above said. Other than that, its all worth it. Bulldogs for the win!

I clean Winston's wrinkles and folds about twice a week, lucky for me he doesn't have so many wrinkles or folds. He is pretty fit for being a bulldog, he has a lot of muscle, everyone who sees him are like "Wow he is like a little weightlifter".
