He has it at his place but I'm not rushing it. Ian did a lot of paint for me already and I still need to order paint and clear, so it'll be a bit

Possibly a shot peened or hyper silver finish

Today I got a lot done. Switched my oil dipstick tube to a black one that came with Sav's dipstick, fixed my hood latch for good, tucked the fuel rail wires (all of them), and got the resistors locally for my deletes.

I went from six fault codes to three, and I already know two of them are from me mixing up the knock sensor and the intake air sensor during the wiring tuck. I will be setting those straight once the car cools down. The other one is still for the SAI but I believe that I might just need to reattach the resistor and make sure it is contacting the connnector fully.

We also change the coolant temp sensor, rear brake pads, and spun the coils up a bit on Adrians car, as well as planned more work to be done to it in the coming weeks.

I also did the fuel injector seals and gave the short ram intake to Caleb, I like my CAI too much

    The List

    General Items:
Matigg Trunk Blend (Need to order paint and clear)
    Emissions Delete (Need Gonzo coding)

    Suspension Related:

Front Work: (All in one alignment)
    TT Arms (Ready to Install)
Polo Strut Bushings, Bearings, Caps (Ready to Install)
    Axle Repairs
--Outer Driverside CV Joint and Boot Kit (Ready to Install)
--Inner CV Clamps and Grease (Ready to Install)

    Rear Work
--IDF Rear Beam Camber Plates (Ship in 2 Weeks)
--Akebono Euro Ceramic Rear Pads (Ready to Install)
--Wheel Bearing+Hub Assemblies (Ready to Install)

Gonna try to do all the suspension and axle work tomorrow

No one cares about my car, but here is Zach's old SRI, modified to fit my VR6.

    SO MUCH WORK WAS DONE

Started out early as hell this morning.

I got my resistor re-seated so it seems like it is working, will find out with a cold start tomorrow!

Laid the arms out to inspect everything one last time:

I realized yesterday my ball joint locating nuts were incorrect, so I popped to Home Depot and got some shiny replacement ones

Got everything I needed laid out:

A picture of the height before:

Picture of the camber plate components out:

My KW spring hats (weren't used with the plates)

Had to go spend 20$ on a new set of triple square drivers because the one for the axles was missing out of my tool box

Everything pulled out of the car:

Had to get my OEM ball joint press out to remove the old ones:

    In action:

    Axle clamp coming off:

Horribly blurry picture of the other inner joint

Driverside outer clamp that I tried to replace before:

Passenger side outer (in great shape)

Adding new grease to inner cup:

    Boot back on:

New OEM clamp ready to be pressed together with the correct tool

    Partly tightened:

Then I used this set up to make it tight as can be:

Then I busted the outer driverside joint off that axle:

    The splines and circlip seat:

    Circlip removed:

    New circlip on:

    My diagram:

Tightened it down, with thrust washer and dish washer:

    Joint back on with boot:

    New clamp:

    Both on and tight:

The inner clamp was cheap and seemed very loose, so I wrapped tape around it as a safety:

    One refurbished driverside axle:

    Axle going back in:

    Arm ready to go in:

    Driverside fully reassembled:

Ball joint assembled with blue loctite (changed to red later)

New polo strut mounts and caps in:

Then we went to get an alignment, but by the time I was to the shop, the car had settled WAYYYYY TOO LOW:

That is the front!!! So we ran back to the shop to raise it a bit (still needs to go up a few more threads tomorrow)

Then I got an alignment, final camber was -1.9 degrees each side, ~7 degrees of caster, and 0.0 toe on both sides. It feels amazing! With the wheel balance and alignment, as well as returning to rubber upper mounts, I couldn't be happier

Finished up the night with some BMW love in the shop, and came home to clean off and relax!

This is the last really big update for a bit, as I am going back to school soon and will be more planning and stock piling again. Tomorrow I will be adding the old oil cap off Sav's car (getting from Ian), and raising the fronts two-three threads(rubbing a bit too much). If I get bored enough I might also change my rear brake pads...

The IDF plates will be shipping soon I hope and that will be the next big job, trying to finish out my lists for now before I start adding more items.

Hope you all enjoyed this giant update

    The List

    General Items:
Matigg Trunk Blend (Need to order paint and clear)
    Emissions Delete (ECU by Gonzo)

    Suspension Related:

--IDF Rear Beam Camber Plates (Ship in 1 Week)
--Akebono Euro Ceramic Rear Pads (Maybe Tomorrow)
--Wheel Bearing+Hub Assemblies (Ready to Install)

Glad to see you got the arms in! I'd like to see a front shot or a 3/4 to show the camber, I'd ALSO love to see a shot from underneath, with the car on the ground, how parallel your arms are sitting. I know, lots of requests!

AAAAALLLSSOOOOOO, how much camber can you get out of the arms?? You didn't reuse the camber plates, right?

I just checked this while I am at lunch, ill take some pictures out in the parking lot when I leave. -1.9 was maxing out the camber adjustment. And yep I ditched the plates, not a fan of them!

The plates were incredibly harsh and way too noisy for me. It also made adjustments very hard, I would try to find a performance alignment shop for your adjustments once you put them in.

For the bushings you can check TTStuff.com!
