    Hey Zach!

So did you decide if your going to run your CC recirculated or atmospheric with a filter?

Iv had my PCV valve deleted out of the TIP blocked off and at the moment I dont run a CC, mine just dumps str8 to the ground. I plan to get a catch can and just run it atmospheric (that is if you dont mind the smell of a little oil, if you happen to turn the air on) that is what i hear from others tho i dont have that problem thank god.

This is how my car is set up, just str8 off the valve cover to a 90* elbow str8 down to a T where the stock elbow of the oil filter housing hose meets the T and then i just have a long hose ran to the ground "the line circled in yellow" in the future if i decide to i just hook that line up to a CC.
    eng

Now something else i am going to bring up only bc there are so many different opinions on this matter. Some people say you need the system to be Re-circulated back into the TIP and or need a catch can (recirculated or not) to create some kind of back pressure in the system I dont know im throwing this out there to see what others have to say on the subject. This is in reference to the way my set up is atm being that it just dumps str8 to the ground no can at all.

    Cheers

    -Matt

I will be running it with no PCV valve and venting to atmosphere. It is a simple set up and doesn't allow any recirculation. It will be just like yours but I will have it collect in a can, I don't want to drip oil on the ground

Edit: After a bit more thinking, I am really not comfortable with the coolant ball delete yet. I may get a smaller unit or something like that, but the system is outside my understanding still and I don't want to create a problem by messing with it.

It says for racing use only.

So... Kufatec's site says their Climatronic harness is for 16-pin units (http://www.kufatec.com/index.php?mai...products_id=82). I'm assuming that's the same harness that you used and that's required for the 17-pin boxes. I've never heard of a 16-pin one.
I'm doing work. (Build Thread) | VCDS Scans / Tweaks in the Waukesha / Milwaukee area for $5 or a 12-pk of Mountain Dew | MK4 Remote Window Control for $20

Weird, seems like they changed it since I got mine, but yeah that looks right.

However, I had been talking about how my car doesn't have a radiator drain under the car, solution found:

Will probably install one next time I service my cooling system

I just picked up a Climatronic HVAC unit. Draining the freon should be fun

Where is this 16/17 pin connector? On the box itself or on the wiring to the control unit?

There is only a 10 or a 17 pin one, anyway thats the one you need because they only sell the adapter for the newer boxes. Just be prepared to wait along time for the harness it took almost 8 weeks for mine to arrive.

They make that look stupid simple. Ask squire. Installing our Mason-Tech plates sucked donkey balls without a lift.

    The List

Akebono Euro Ceramic Rear Pads (Ready for Install)

034 Silicon Breather Kit (Arriving tomorrow)
    Billet Dipstick Tube (Arriving tomorrow)
J-Caps Coolant Cap (Should be coming from _plush_)

On a random topic related to the TIP, me and Ian found amazing hose clamps at a local West Marine , they sell very very high end boating and sailing equipment.

Available in nearly any size, they act like normal hose clamps, with three advantages:

1-The insides are totally smooth, with no notches that would cut into your hose.

2-The fact that is has no notches means it has ridges in stead, and the clamp feeds into itself, leaving no "dangling" band outside the clamp.

3-The quality is superb, and they are built to resist corrosion on a boat, so they will last forever in my engine bay (they are also shiny)

This is the best picture I can find of one:

So I already have one for the TIP that will attach it to the turbo, but Ian needed the others back. So I will need one for the N249, one for the PCV, and one for the DV. Also two for my brake booster line.

It will set me back a pretty penny, but they are very nice and well worth it.

For those with A.D.D.: Cool hose clamps that I will be getting for the TIP

Yep, they also stay very tightly bent so it doesn't hang out like most clamps.
