Looks like a great option if you feel like spending around $1600. At least the "value added tax" isn't applicable to us.

    Id do it

To be honest, I think that setup is a bit of a ripoff, and when all is said and done, you still have a front mount sitting in front of your radiator decreasing your air flow. Especially considering that you are running a g-lader, I would use an oem radiator moved as far over to one side of the rad support as possible, and them mount a bigger side mount next to it. I did this with my 16vt using an aftermarket upgraded mr-2 sidemount, and it worked great. My coolant temps were bang on if not a bit lower than oem, and my mat never went over 95 degrees unless I was sitting in traffic on a hot day. There are tons of different ways to set up an intercooler, but I found this was a very efficient setup, and considering it utilized the oem radiator and an intercooler that was shipped to my door for under $100, it's quite cost effective as well.

I hear you on the heat soak. I can honestly say that during my 7 hour commute to Southern MK1 GTG, i got blisters on my fingers for tuching intercooler piping, as it was that hot. I supose the price is steep on that kit, and with the money not spent on it, i can come up with something a third of the price and effective.. I am a diy kinda guy so im sure i can make something custom work. I actually found a radiator, just need to get me an idea for intercooler.

That is a nice set up and looks good, but turbo cars are much more convenient and give you plenty of room up front. G60 set up is a big bulky charger up in front, which imediately limits most of your decision making. Knowing how clean i did my jetta, I am sure i can come up with something that will provide me with minimal plumbing and cleanest bay possible.

You could still do the same basic set up as I did, just use either the stock MK1 or the longer MK2 rad. Both would sit in another 1.5" closer to the core. In other words almost stock location

    ok,

I think i got it narrowed down to two options, that i would like to use.

    1. Golf Rallye Radiator Small and fits well.. (HAVE NO CLUE WHERE TO OBTAIN)
    2. Mishimoto Radiator form a 92 Civic. I am capable of sourcing all necessary hardware to make it work.

I like the idea of Rallye as its a factory fit, wehre Mishi is not. Mishi will give me more room to play around with piping, and is thicker in core.

Question is, which will provide better cooling. Im thinking Mishi, but dont have stats.

    Google reveals 191121253P to be the Rallye Part number (via a UK Forum) and I found this site;
    http://www.miparts.com/detail/radiat...3#.UIq9P4YvmTU
Selling that part. Check dimensions for fitment.

    EDIT:
    http://www.arz-tuning.de/shop/produc...0.html/cat/238
is a proper one, dimensions seem the same. But WAY more expensive.

Neither of those are the correct radiator. I dont have the part number on me but non AC cars came with a smaller radiator that was 430mm. That is the one that i would like to use and am not sure where to source it

    first pic is my whip
It's a OEM VW Corrado one

if u want i can give you the Part nr (must search first)

I choose that one because it fit's perfect and does use an external expantion tank, just to make sure i alway's see how many fluid is in

Like you mentioned a early radiator with build in fluid tank looks way cleaner

If i can help you with annything, just ask!

Thanks mate, i got a radiator coming from englad. Its a built in expansion tank. I think i resolved it to mercedes sprinter intercooler but, at the moment i do mot want to buy the rallye elbow. Therefore im curious if i should have problems running a 90degree silicone hose. I think the oil filter may get in the way

    et 10,

So, I've been thinking about this for a while.. Im pulling my motor in a weeks time or so, depending on weather. Im going to do basic bay shave, but i was curious as if i should go ahead and delete the rain tray. I am literally 50/50 on the fence. I have done it to my mk4 jetta and it looks great without it. Opens up the space a lot, but in the same time, it still looks good with it on.

Leave the rain tray. Honestly; I'm getting tired of looking at overly shaved bays, with deleted rain trays.

Well if you want some nice low seats, try corrado buckets. they sit much lower than mk2 gti seats and have more adjustment. depending on which mk1 you have, you may need to swap the seats from side to side, passenger seat becomes the driver seat etc. but im not entirely sure.

when i had corrado seats in one of my mk1s, i could set them so low i couldnt see over the dashboard, and im 6ft tall.
How does a rotary work? This one's easy: the magic triangle spins in the peanut and then apex seals come out.
