    im gonna try to get the coils on the caddy and do the axle flip this week so i will see how it goes...hopefully i will bring that if not might just bring the old jetta pile

    hahaha yea...i use to say the same thing about my old mk3.....anything over 100 miles...not going...to far to risk breaking

    I think it'll be alright, Freddy looked it over real good. I went ahead and got ARP headstuds and a good gasket, I guess we'll slap her back together and see what happens. She'll go or she'll blow!

    Not sure? It's like 5 layers of steel riveted together. It's what Techtonics said to use on a G60. The one in it looked like a normal gasket, it eroded between the water jackets and the edge of the cylinder. Getting it buttoned back up little by little.

    i see that a few of you have mk1s. anyone swap in a 16v? im not far from being done. i have to replace my gas tank(if anyone has done this and has tips please LMK), and hook everything back up. also anyone delete their heaterbox? im lost at how to loop the cooling system correctly. i apologize for my absence. school 4 days a week sucks.

    Anyone going to Blowneuros sunday?

    the easy way to loop the heater is to just hook the 2 heater hoses together. the gas tank is pretty much straight forward once you get under there and look at it. why are you swapping the gas tank?

    The gas tank recall from 87 was never addressed. It was patched by the PO but when I put a full tank of gas in it it flooded. My driveway. I'm lost at how to properly disconnect the brake lines from the rear beam.

    oh ok i got ya. there are 2 rubber flex hoses 1 on each side right by where the axle bushings are. just take the brake lines off there
