believe those are 4x108mm. I had an older audi 4000 quattro 4 bolt car and it used 4x108... Wished it was 4x100 to put my bbs wheels on.

AS for today it was my day off work so after school I got home and got to work on my car.
So now that I had the engine out of the gti, i wanted to get the exhaust off. So i turned the cinder blocks long ways so i could fit under the car comfortably.
So i took the headers off. and then I realized the exhaust was a fully welded exhaust. So it wouldnt come out too easy. Basically I just pushed the rear beam down as far as it would go and just kept twisting until the bend at the mufler got past the rear beam. It ended up coming out the right side of the car. But whatever works
Then my friend andy came over to look at the dents in my rear quarter. We then drove to his hosue to get his welder. Then we shaved off the paint and got to welding nuts on to screw into the slide hammer. However for some odd reason the weld wouldnt hold.
After he gave up on that for the night and left I decided i would put the exhaust on the golf. Since I liked the cinder block idea so much i decided to do the same to the golf. then the next thing i had to do was disconnect the struts from the rear beam so i could drop it. Impact gun and 20 seconds later:
The exhaust was much easier to get in then it was to get out. Even got it connected to all three exhaust hangers
Then It came time to hook up the O2 sensors when i noticed the O2 sensors on the golf looked like this:
So i swapped the gti O2 sensors on over to the golf. And then i called it a night because i couldnt feel my toes.![]()

Not to be a downer or anything, but cinderblocks can crack and crumble. I'd hate to see "I didn't use proper jackstands and now I'm a paraplegic" come up in the future of this thread.
Great work otherwise![]()

then why do people use cinder blocks to build foundations for houses? they'll be fine, great progress by the way.

I assure you that crawling under the car supported by only cinder blocks was not my first choice. But desperate times call for desperate measures.Anyway the cinder block jackstands were only for today so i could fit under there and get the exhaust off and on. So now that the exhaust is off the gti and on the golf, i no longer have any reason to get under the car anymore.
Also I had "safety" jacks in place. So if by some very unfortunate coincidence all 4 blocks crumbled at the same time. It would have fallen on the steelies I had laying under there.

Well I mean, it is really unlikely that all of the cinder blocks would crack and break at once. And if they all did break at once, these cars are light as hell, we were picking up the gti last night. It wouldn't kill him if it fell

Yes, thank you!
Yeah, i dont really care what everyone is saying about the cinder blocks being bad. I know they are bad. If anyone would like to donate 6 more jack stands be my guest. But cinder blocks were 1.50 each so thats what im using. And for me to actually get hurt all 4 blocks would have to break at the same time. And EVEN IF such an event would occur, like james said. These cars are light as hell. Im not a big guy...and i lifted up the gti last night so james could slide a block under it.

I don't know why I never thought of this. I'm totally going to make one before it starts to precipitate.
I had a harbor freight portable garage up last year. My town apparently has an ordinance that you can't have one without a permit. Permit is good for 6 months. To avoid a fine I had to take it down 'sometime before the end of the year' so to be spiteful to my dick neighbor who definitely called about it, i took it down on new years eve at 11pm.
